Symptoms of DHT reducing

Friends, in my country- Bulgaria, there is only Avodart, Proscar and Finasteride 1mg- that's how its named. I didnt check the firm that creates it, but it is sold in all pharmacies here and they say its legitimete. However it cost around 5 Euro, which is lot less that Propecia ? I feel afraid to split Proscar because i am sure that more or less it wont work as well *** full pill, i am not on starting dutasteride yet, i am planning to give the 1mg finasteride that is sold in pharmacies a try. There is only propecia available from some food suppliment online stores which i completely dont trust. My question is, will this finasteride be similar to propecia regardless the cost, as long as it is legaly sold in pharmacies? Also how can i know if it works. Currently i am not losing hair so i wont be able to say if hair stop falling, i was losing a few years ago and it stopped on its won around that time, but i want to take it for prevention since i am only thinning for now. Will it decrease my oily skin- i had acne when i was 20, right when i was seeing 10-15 hairs falling each day. This period remain for half and year and stopped, from what i read it could be so call maturing hairline.. However my hairline is just the same as when 14 years old, just looks thinner, i am with buzz cut, when its longer the thinning is invicible. Anyways i still have oily skin, so since oiliness is often associated with androgens, can i expect reducing or its not common thing. Maybe decrease in sex drive? Symptoms that will indicate lowering of the dht. My test levels are around 300, so dht should not be high as well. Thanks

Finasteride and propecia are the same thing.

A little more or a little less is not going to make any difference.

But from what you describe, maybe you don't need to take anything at all? It's hard to tell with no pics, though..

Thanks for the reply br1 I know they are same but i've heard from few forums that specific propecia is considered better than other brands that sell finasteride. So again in pharmacies here there is no name brand propecia but finasteride 1mg, proscar 5mg and avodart. 1mg finasteride i belive is about 5 euro and i think it was named Finasteride Accord but i am not sure, i will check the pharmacy these days and respond back. About my current position, at 24 soon to be 25, i am having some thining on the sides and center of the head, but the crown and the front are super thick. Funny think is the places i am thinning i am light brown- to blond, the rest of my hair is just brown. People have always asked me now and when i was child if my hair is dued or colored, but its just geneticly more blond on some places. These blond patches now seem to be thining though. My mother's side family all have hair but there is thining in most of them after their 30-40s. My fathers side have lot thicker hair but bald patches apearing in some of them in their 40s. No one is fully bald though. Thing is i think i have inherited my mothers genes because i lack body hair, while my father has a lot. I am also thinning similary to mother's family members. I will post few photos tomorrow probably since i am at work now.The thing is when i was about 19-20 i was lifing weights, using a lot of suppliments even touch mild steroids for couple of months. They were androgenic types, While i was on i saw no hair loss, but when i stopped my probably due to shift in hormones i started developing acne and i was seeing a lot of hair on keybord. It lastet for half or full year and stopped. Now i am almost 25, my hair is thinner than before the way i see it but the hairline havent changed at all. I see no hairs falling thang God even when i rub my hair for minute. I am not afraid to go bald i have nice shaped skull but i dont want it for now. My questions are- would you start finasteride just for prevention, or shall i not try it for now since there is no visible hair fall, can finasteride worsen the situation rather than improve it. Also is there anything like decrease in sex drive that i shall expirience to know that finasteride is working. I am not afraid to lower my sex drive. Also shall i buy the 1mg finasteride of that brand or to buy proscar and spliting it. Thanks again

Here are few photos. Now only to tell you that that hair in top of my head is naturaly blonder, so its hard to say with the falshlight i used but you should notice the thinning. Againt that happened few years ago and there is no hairs falling last few years. Shall i start to prevent or i should wait more.. Thanks

I use proscar, cutting it isnt hard and it works great. And with proscar you get brand name finasteride and its cheap. Cant beat it in my book

I haven't noticed any differences while on propecia. Actually some good things have happened. The increased testosterone from reduced DHT levels has increased my muscle mass. Not by much, but there is a noticeable difference compared to before.

Isn't finasteride supposed to reduce testosterone levels?

No. Finasteride reduces DHT by way of inhibiting 5AR2 and 5AR3, which blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT. To compensate, the body actually increases testosterone production.

"Symptoms" for me at 6 months on finasteride are:

My age: 27

Hair regrowth, proof in my post.

Reduction in acne.

Complete elimination of scalp itch.

Slightly less semen thickness.

Zero sex drive decrease. Still perform 5/7 days a week with wife and enjoy it as much as ever.
