hey guys this is my first post on the forum. I started accutane(very strong medicine against acne) because of my severity of acne, I am in my 4th month out of the six. And I started noticing hair loss recently. Now I have very thick brown hair and it is not noticeable by my parents but when i go through my hair with my hand in front of the computer i see at least 8 strands of hair on the table. But also i think its in my genes on my dads side he is the only one thats bald none of his brothers or his dad are bald, on my moms side no one is bald. I have herd the rule that if your moms grandpa isnt bald you wont be bald. But that doesn't always come true. So my question to you guys is that whats the chances of me going bald?, will i be like my dad? Please help

Get off that medication. I too was on this - it is poison, I have other illnesses relating to this. Get off.

The hair loss is mentioned in the leaflet, if you stop it should subside. That's not to say you won't suffer male pattern baldness later in life though.

I used Roactane in the 90's when it first came out.Like you I was given 6 months on it..My hairloss problems started straight away mainly thinning the hair and drying it out because the Roactane dries up all the oil in your face/hair it also dries the oil glands in your scalp as well..I have to use conditioner every time I shampoo cos my is so dry it looks very thin with just shampoo..I suggest you use baby oil on your scalp..
