You can take 1 mg of finasteride or .5 mg of dutasteride...

...What about both at the same time with a 1/2 or even 1/4 (.25 or .125 mg) of a Avodart pill combined with 1/2 or even 1/4 (.5 or .25 mg) of a Propecia pill?

This would save a little money, block both types of DHT, and not have so much of the drug(s) in your system.

What do you guys think?

Doesn´t dutasteride block both types of enzymes?? (I´m not sure on this)

If so, maybe it´s enough taking dutasteride.

dutasteride already blocks both types, which is a bit scary in and of itself, but no way would I take propecia and dutasteride.

Taking finasteride with dutasteride is just a waste of money. Dutasteride does finasteride's job plus a bit extra as it blocks both Type I and Type II 5-alpha reductase isozymes. Save the $ and buy yourself a prosthetic dick -- you might need it with the dutasteride. 8)

Yes, but taking a 1/4 of a Avodart pill is safer and cheaper than a whole one, and then a 1/4 of a Propecia pill will make up for what the 1/4 of Avodart pill is not enough for, a safety net because 1/4 of Dutasteride might not be enough.

Avodart=$2.20 divided by 4= 55 cents per pill (120 pills for $65)

Propecia=$1.83 divided by 4= 46 cents per pill (120 pills for $55)

Thats Avopecia .15 mg daily for $30.30 (a dollar a day) and it may be much better at fighting hair loss than Propecia and has less side effects as well.

Anyone want to do the math using the following formulas for "Duscar" or "Dutacar"? What about these 3 meds at a higher dose?

What "drinkrum" said is correct: it doesn't SAVE you money, it costs you EXTRA money. For crying out loud, just use dutasteride by itself!

BTW, the ability of dutasteride to inhibit the type 1 enzyme starts to fall-off rapidly when you go below the standard dose of 0.5 mg/day. Keep that in mind.

1/4 of an Avodart per day would inhibit the type 2 enzyme a little BETTER than even a full Proscar tablet (5 mg finasteride). You wouldn't NEED 1/4 of a Propecia pill to supplement it. Save your money.

Bullshit. Side-effects are proportional to DHT reduction. Just use dutasteride by itself, and skip the finasteride.
