This is a good question, I've never taken propecia itself on a trip abroad, but I have taken prescription drugs without documentation before and didn't have any problems. Generally if a customs official finds 4 weeks worth of tablets it's so small an amount that they'll assume it's just medication. I mean it must be a regular occurrence for someone to go abroad with medication and not have documentation showing they have a prescription, so I wouldn't worry about it to be honest. At the same time every country has different procedures so you might want to read up on Thailand - I know that they do have insane drug laws for their citizens (executions for marijuana possession) but I'm not sure how they treat prescription drugs.

That is an interesting question. Ive brought pills abroad before, not finasteride, without perscription to some countries without a problem. I wonder would it be more of a risk bringing generics? The packaging could look a bit questionable..

Ive done it , just send it as luggage(not carry on) and keep a prescription and you will be fine.

Yeah, I have travelled a lot with my propecia without problem. In fact, last time i was in Thailand I bought 6 boxes of propecia from the pharmacy over the counter and had no trouble leaving with it. Its probably safest to put it in your checked in luggage however.

Recently when i was flying out of Amsterdam, the security people went through my carry on luggage because I had some liquid minoxidil in my toilet bag which was in my carry on bag. The EU has restrictions about having liquids in your carry on luggage so they searched my bag. He found the liquid, but in the same bag i had 3 cut proscar 1/4's in a small plastic bag. It looked so dodgy, and i thought this is going to be interesting (not to mention embaressing) trying to talk my way out of this, but by some miracle, the guy missed them and just got the minoxidil.

Meds should go in your checked in luggage unless you need them during the flight.

just hide the pills somewhere. surely, there are hundreds of thousands of people who have to take certain medications and pills and that have to travel to different countries all the time and i'm sure they don't get arrested. i mean, what crime are u committing by taking finasteride abroad???

well, there could also be the embarrassment of them questioning you about it and potentionally having to explain yourself in front of people you would rather not know you're taking medication for hair loss. and what if you don't have a prescription? how thoroughly do they go through checked in luggage?

furthermore, what if you were to, say.. get pulled over while driving, or something, and the cop decided to search you? i once had B12 vitamins confiscated for testing! "gonna have to take these to the lab," they said. needless to say, i never saw them again. granted, those guys were complete morons and totally looking for a reason to arrest me.

i really don't think u could get into trouble for carrying finasteride with u. unless yours looks like cocaine.

I always thought about this too... But it's all about luck..

More than 50% of people who travel abroad take some kind of medications with them. Also most Americans, and 1st world people are all medicated with some kind of psychotropic, and is very common to find those meds. Be sure, your meds are in the blister and into the box, so they can easily identify what kind of drug it is.

Also they CAN'T ask you about a prescription.

Why? Because when you buy your propecia, you must give your prescription to your pharmacist!!

So, if they ask you about one, tell them that.. I don't think anyone takes a backup prescription when he travels. Never heard about that.
