Well, I just turned 17 this month and I have been balding since I was 12 or 13 years old. I am perfectly healthy and gone through pewberty with no problems. I have alopecia, but not the typical male alopecia, but female alopecia where the hairline remains intact. I already been to the doctors and suggested noting until I turn 18. Besides my falling hair, i have acne and pimples everywhere, on my face(no as bad as the following areas), back, shoulder, arms and chest; if that has anything to do with the problem. Any suggestions to regrow my hair. Ive heard about Nizoral; is that any good againts alopecia and what is the frequency of use?

Yeah, picking up some Nizoral would probably be a really good idea and a good starting point for you. I wouldn't say that its a strong male pattern baldness fighter, it has quite a mild effect, but helps break the irritation cycle which could have some positive benefits for your hair condition. Use it 2 or 3 times a week. Lather it up, and then let it sit on your head while you go about cleaning the rest of your body, and rinse it off last to give it some sitting time on your scalp.

It sounds like your hormones are all over the map! Probably a good time to really focus on a good diet, and getting in some good, regular exercise if you don't already.

i think finasteride will probably help u. if u have lots of acne and hairloss at such a young age it seems your androgen hormones are out of control. reducing DHT might be a good idea. your doctors said u should wait till you're 18 but if you're SURE if you've stopped developing, i'd get some propecia or finpecia (generic) from http://www.inhousepharmacy.com or http://www.unitedpharmacies.com. good luck!

How can you be sure if you stop developing? Even if there is no physical change there can still be stuff going on inside.

I say weigh the risk vs benefits with starting finasteride at your age and do as you will, but i am personally going to hold out untill i am about 20 to be safer, if all my hair is gone by that time then so be it.

I'd like to know this as well. I'm 5'10.5" right now but I think my shoulders still have to grow a bit. I have grown half an inch since april. I hit puberty at a later age and I don't think I'm done developing. I'm 19 right now. Does this mean I have to wait a while to start propecia? Are there any risks of stunted development?

There might not be any documented risks, but honestly listen to your intuition, if it really doesnt feel right then just don't do it.

In your case i wouldnt go within a foot of a propecia pill for a bit.

u know you've stopped developing by firstly seeing what age you started puberty. if it was at a young age like 11/12 for me, then you should be ok with finasteride at 17/18. also, i stopped growing when i was 15/16. if you're still growing, then u clearly haven't stopped developing. lastly, do u look matured and developed? if you're 17 and u look like a developed man, then maybe you've stopped developing. and of course, listen to your intuition like someone said. finasteride before u stop developing is dangerous and foolish. but afterwards could lead to some benefits.

Thanks for the help man. Yeah, I'm not even sure when I hit puberty haha. It was around 16 though cause I was one of the shortest kids in the class, then i grew about 9 inches out of nowhere. I look 17 right now, so it's probably best to hold off on any kind of pills for about a year or so.

could have something to do with the acne i guess. I would wait a little. if male pattern baldness is not involved you could try minoxidil.
