So the other day I was looking through some old digi cam photos from vacations and whatnot.

I came upon a rather interesting photo. It was taken about 3 to 3.5 years ago. It was a very windy day, and my hairline was blown all the way back. The pic shows some pretty intense receeding. I had no idea my hairline was that bad back then. I thought my receeding began about a year and a half ago-- not this far back.

I started propecia almost a year ago, and haven't had any real noticable

changes except some temple recession which might just be my imagination.

So.... 2-2.5 years without treatment and my hairline stays practically the same. 1 year with treatment and my hairline is exactly the same.

Wtf happened? Shouldnt I be a Norwood 3-4 by now?

V comparison pic. Recent photo is with water in hair slicked back for view of the hairline.

It looks like your sort of in the same boat as me. I'm 21.. my hairline receded to where it is now by the time i was 18. It hasn't moved back at all anymore but thinning started to occur. You may have possibly lost some density. We are lucky our male pattern baldness is slow, it gives us time to work on it.

re:

Hairloss can progress at variable speeds thorough out one's life, in fact, many men go through temporary sheds and regrowth even when not on medications. There is no way of knowing how one's male pattern baldness will progress.
I think your hairline looks the same if not better today then three years ago. This is most likely because either there was a slow down or halting of your hairloss because of your natural body chemistry and/or because of finasteride use.
