Dear hairloss sufferers,
I'm currently on a Dutasteride regime. My doctor wouldnt prescribe me the original Avodart anymore (long story), so I buy the generic version (Duta's from Dr. Reddy's) online at AllDayChemist.com
It's really cheap, 15 dollar for 30 units.

I'm asking myself if this dutasteride it's the real deal. I was on the real Avodart 0,5 mg Dutasteride a couple of years ago (prescribed by my doctor), and everyday when I took one unit on a empty stomach, after 15 minutes my stomach really hurted for 10 minutes (cramps). After 10 minutes the cramps went away.

Now even with 2 a 3 units of 0,5 mg Duta's from Dr Reddy's (so 1.5mg total), I don't experience such pain in my stomach, not even a bit. I don't think it's working too. I'm still shedding etc, but when I was on the original avodart, shedding halted.

Also another user on hairloss talk/help, (user Bora) used 2,5 mg of Duta's from AllDayChemist, and his DHT values where a little bit low, but in the same range of what 1mg of fina would do. Normally, 2,5mg of Duta's should remove around 95% of serum DHT.

So my questions:
Does somebody else here uses Dutasteride Duta's from AllDayChemist? Do you know if it's legit? Does it work?

Another question: Is there sombody at this forum who is able to test drugs? Somebody who is a chemist, or chemical analyst or something? I would really like to have the dutasteride tested. Because AllDayChemist is the lowest price supplier of Dutasteride, if it's clear the stuff is legit, it would be of tremendous value for this forum.

I really hope somebody can help!
Best regards,
amsterdam.1983!

a common question...

I too am on Dr reddys and have wondered if they are real, even when I was taking the GSK avodart I couldn't be sure if they were the real dead considering the source I was buying them from

regarding your stomach cramps- I couldn't tell you if I get the same thing from GSK avodart and from the generics as I never take it on an empty stomach anymore. But I do know what you mean, I've had those cramps before.

Whether or not those cramps are a sign of the products legitimacy or not.. who knows, it could just be because of different inactive ingredients in the generics.

I can tell you that I've been off my Dr reddys stuff from a few weeks and hair-wise things got really bad, so they must be doing something (i don't buy from same place as you though) but I'm afraid in the merky world of net pharmacys there is no way we can know what we are taking is real (unless it has positive effects) or even safe.

The risks we take for our hair!

Can't you have a drug tested at a pharmacy? Somehow?

u could send in your item to an independent lab company. But it would cost a good amount of money

Its not cheap to run the test you want.

Honestly if your Dr. wont prescribe it and legally he should not unless you have prostate issues. Then you could always go with a company called Medical Wellness Center just google it.

Basically they charge you $50 for a consultation and then write you a year prescription which they will call in to the pharmacy of your choice. Usually Walmart or Costco are the cheapest places.

I have not used them personally but Ive seen other members here an on HLH talk about going through them

Hey Guys,
I used both generic and brand name versions of both Avodart and Propecia. I've been on brand name Avodart for just 1.5 months so its too early to tell if its doing anything form me.

Propecia slowed my hair loss down quite a bit. However, the past year and a half, around the same time when I switched to Finpecia, my hair loss rapidly sped up. I didn't think from the time that it was due to the fact that I went from brand name to generic. I was being a moron and thought that "yeah, generic's should work just as fine". My mother and cousin, both of whom are doctors, and my cousin is a urologist instructor, both told me that generics are like candy medicine and don't do !@$%. Urologists are the ones that prescribe meds like Propecia and Dutasteride in the first place and are the ones that do the actual research on the drugs. My cousin teaches these guys that are in med school to become urologists.

I even took 2 x .5mg of Dutas (Dr. Reddys) AND 1mg of Finpecia everyday, and it didn't do squat compared to the side effects I'm getting from .5mg of brand name Avodart everyday.

If you value your hair, definitely try to use the brand name versions!!!

Generics are fine, doctors prescribe generics on the NHS, eg pfizer generic finasteride.
