...and when you finally decide to order it, DHL fucks up and shipment is delayed for 2-3 weeks.

Been on minoxidil for 10 months with significant regrowth. Got me back to about a NW1.1-5 but temples are going to sh*t fast now.

Inb4 my hairloss recedes faster when I'm on finasteride.

Hey man :D Thanks bro I appreciate it.

Yeah man I'll never drop minoxidil. It has done me so f*****g well, no way I'm dropping that sh*t.

You got any plans on jumping on medication soon?

No. I've got meds on hand, but I haven't seen my hairline get worse or any thinning on any part of my scalp. Still holding a NW1.5.

when would be the right time to take finasteride in your opinion? I'm still considered a norwood 1 according to my dermatologist but my frontal hair has shown significant thinning in only half a year. So far no hair loss but the thinning is getting noticable (only in harsh lighting but still vs. nothing in harsh lighting 6 months prior)

Could you post some pics?

if you go to my profile I have pictures of where I currently stand in terms of my hair!

I saw your hair pics. Boy, you're fine. Your hairline is sturdier than mine. I've been a NW1.5 for over a year. No meds. No current balding. You're reacting to corners that don't even look like thinning.

I've had this jagged asymmetrical mess for over a year. You have worse BDD than I do lol.

Anyone's hair, even women's and men who have zero balding, look like sh*t under harsh lighting. The reason why is because when you look at someone's hair under normal lighting, the hair creates shadows which "hide" the parts of the scalp that are not dotted in hair follicles (not slick bald spots). Obviously, not every single square inch of scalp is 100% hair. The illusion of fullness comes from lighting.

Do you have thinning on your crown or the top (mid-section ) of your scalp?

well the thing is I've been confirmed by two dermatologists that I'm genetically balding, after doing microscopic tests and all that good stuff. My hair has gotten significantly thinner since I posted those pictures, but it's still unnoticeable to the untrained eye. I won't be taking finasteride yet and will reassess where I am with my dermatologists in a few months. If they said it's gotten worse I'll try to go on finasteride again. The first time I went on only for 4 days and got off because I started getting cystic acne and got scared lol. Maybe the hormone shift caused it and would adapt but I didn't want bad skin and bad hair -__-.

Thanks for the reassurance though it's good to see that only I can tell I'm losing hair atm haha, and in terms of harsh lighting, I actually never saw my scalp until recently which also confirmed the dermatologist's diagnosis that I'm a slow diffuse thinner, just like my father and maternal grandfather (R.I.P)

Well, a microscopic test is better than any guesses from members on our forum. In any case, you're in good hands with your derms. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like diffuse thinning as a route to balding is common in Asian males? My best friend who's Asian has been a diffuse thinner for all of his teens. No joke. The good thing about catching diffuse thinning early on is that treatments are usually pretty effective.

And he’s Asian too... Asians always respond to propecia

Ya the study in japan showed a >90% response rate

Damn. I'm also pretty sure Asians go bald at a much less frequent rate compared to Caucasians?

It especially seems like if you're Eastern European and male, baldness is basically a guarantee.

Well... I was NW2 prior to minoxidil, I'm about a NW1.5 right now, and I know that my hair will get to it's previous state in a few months/1 year so I'm just trying to delay it.

I think finasteride is appropriate to take if you know that you're losing hair

haha unfortunately when I tried finasteride for 4 days I started getting cystic acne on my face, which I NEVER got since I graduated college....I'm wondering if it's the shift in hormones that's causing these changes, but honestly that's the one side effect that's actually pushing me away more than the sexual ones (the vanity is strong within me lol...)

yeah my father and grandfather both started thinning just like me, but it was slow for them...by 45 my dad was really thin and by 58 my grandfather was completely bald on top...just saw an old family picture of me with the rest of my relatives and didn't realize they ALL have the ring of death hahaha

how did your friend deal with the diffuse thinning? Is he on medications or did he just let nature take its course. Based on your profile picture you also seem to have a lot of hair haha wondering why you're on these forums as well!
