The Ben Affleck/Kevin Smith Thread!

Because I really feel this forum has been lacking one. Never before have we seen a thread with this dynamic duo encompassed in a single swoop.

So I was watching Disc 1 of "An Evening with Kevin Smith II: Evening Harder", and at one point Kevin Smith talks about how everyone is (rightly) kicking Affleck when he's very, very down, and how he doesn't want to get on that bandwagon (and then proceeds to do so at every opportunity). And he recounts the story about Affleck and Vince Vaught getting to a fight, and Vince rips off his wig, etc., and how ridiculous it is. Smith says, "And he says to me, 'Pull my hair!' And I was like, no, I believe you, dude. You say you're not wearing a wig, I believe you," or something roughly along those lines. But here's the kicker to this whole unexpose: the entire time I was watching the DVD, I kept on wondering, Where the hell did Kevin's bald spot go? I mean, you can clearly see it in the menu, you can clearly see it in "An Evening with Kevin Smith", the first set of DVDs from 2003; but every time there's a high-angle shot in the new DVDs (at least in the first disc--haven't watched the second yet) you can't see so much as a centimeter of skin. To top that off--what's going on with his hairline?

So I've concluded that we can't take Smith's word on Affleck for a couple reasons. Reason 1: he's Affleck's best friend. Reason 2: Smith himself has clearly had transplants, big time, both in the front and the back and/or some kind of hair system installed (my money's on the transplants: while it looks pretty dang ok, a hair system would look way thicker, and just better in general). Someone with hair problems is never going to expose another man's hair problems--especially if it's his best friend.

Yeah, I know. Who gives a flying motherf*ck. Both these guys' income and personal assets are divisible by the GDP of Rwanda. Still. I've always been a bit curious about the whole Affleck Hair Scandal.

I had dinner next to Ben and Jenn the other night and I could not stop looking at the dude's hair. There is something seriously not natural about it. It's WAY TOO THICK -- and his natural widow's peak hairline (see Shakespeare in Love) has been replaced by a WALL OF HAIR. By the way, I saw Kevin Smith on Conan a couple of weeks ago and he got on the ground and his bald spot was gigantic!

Shakespeare in Love does not have Ben's natural hairline. Watch an older movie with him in it like Mallrats. He's always had the hairline he has now.

Found some recent pics (March 2010) of Ben Affleck.

Looks like he's dropping off his daughter at school.

Your thoughts on his hair, please...

Looks absolutely fine...He doesn't even seem to show any signs of hair loss.

I don't think it was J-Lo. The post was written in 2006. They were broke up then. Affleck would have been with Jennifer Garner at that time.

But still...same question would apply.

There have been photos posted here (or perhaps another forum) showing a closeup of Afflecks hairline---it very much appeared to be a piece. I don't believe that is his real hair and I think a dead giveaway is the fact that he has no hair on the side in front of the ear---those triangular points that stick out and point over the eyebrow that usually disappear with the balding process, whatever they're called.

I think it's his hair. You're referring to the temple points I believe, and they appear to be there, just a bit far back. Everyone has these in differently places. Some people have them almost touching their damn eyebrows. His are just a bit far from his eyebrows. BTW, GREAT CCS quote xD

Sometimes, I've seen plenty of men that don't have male pattern baldness and their "triangles" are hardly there, i think it varies from person to person.

So no one actually has a comment on this pic? This is Affleck's hairline. That can't be real--it looks like one of those lace attachments or whatever they're called.

His hairline appears to be all over the map in different pics of him. I truly think he wears a rug.
