The Big Three and The Little Three

I haven't logged in here in four or five years only because I haven't needed to. I used to have an internet radio program and I stopped doing it because I felt that the only people that were listening were too obsessed with their hair. However I was kind of obsessed myself back in 2002 and at that time I started the Big three regimen. I also kind of incorporated a Little Three as well which are three other little things that I do or take along with the basic Big Three.

I think we all know what the Big three consists of and I feel that The Big Three has contributed to about 85% of my hair maintenance success. However, the Little Three has probably given me another 10% of effectiveness and I strongly feel that it's that extra 10% that has made such a difference. The Little three consists of multivitamins that have 300 mcg Biotin, L-Lysine, and the third is going to the gym and sweating. I know many people are laughing but I'm telling you that if I didn't run the treadmill and sweat out all of the toxins in my system from taking the medications such as the Big Three and drinking alcohol, the entire routine wouldn't work. The gym, sweating and exercise is a huge part of it. Think of it as flushing out the system.

The use of biotin seems half-way reasonable, since there was a study in a medical journal which claimed to find a benefit from it for hair. I think the use of lysine is just a scam, however. Neither do I have any idea why "sweating" and exercise would be beneficial for hair.

Circulation/ blood flow has absolutely no link to hair loss. I think the guy means that the regular sweating affected how well the meds worked as opposed to having a direct effect on his hair.

why is smoking said to increase the rate or onset of male pattern baldness?

The exercise would have reduced your stress levels and kept your insulin levels steady. Just don't pump the iron too much

For some reason if I take an L-Lysine around 5pm on a Saturday evening and I don't eat for an hour before or after my hair will look awesome that night. I don't know why but it really makes my hair have great texture. I only take about two or three a week and always on an empty stomach because it's an Amino Acid.

As far as the sweating, it's to make the Propecia and Minoxidil work more effectively. I think that many guys report that they feel it stops working but I feel if that's the case, it may be your body builds up a tolerance level. If you sweat out all of the PPG from the Minoxidil and the toxins and sediment that comes with taking any kind of pill, you have to flush that stuff out so as you take more your body will treat it like it's not so familiar with it. For me, I strongly feel that it's been very effective and is working just as well today as it did 8 years ago when I started on the Big Three.

To stop people smoking probably. Maybe it has a slight affect on the male pattern baldness process, but all that scalp rubbing, hanging upside down etc, has got to be bs.

This is from LEF(they sell some certain other ancient hair loss crap..so why question them :dunno: ):

L-Lysine

A United States patent has been issued for L-lysine for treatment of various types of hair loss, including androgenetic alopecia. L-lysine (an amino acid) inhibits 5-alpha-reductase.33

But then again..it IS a patent. Maybe even by a Doctor :woot:

On the sweating thing..besides exercise..try a sauna- Infrared dry one if possible.

There was a study floating around that determined that people with male pattern baldness have significantly poorer circulation in their scalp than non-male pattern baldness subjects. I realize that DHT is the force behind hair loss, but what if circulation contributes to it or makes it worse? Minoxidil doesn't address DHT, but it's still considered to be part of the Big 3.

I just realized though that hair transplants would be affected by poor circulation and apparently aren't, so I don't know.
