The Itch Has Finally Gone! Sweet Lord Yes!

Gents,
Bizarrely I view this as a huge success not in terms of hair gains but that itch is gone.... at least for now. finasteride after 8 fantastic years started to lose ground and an itch and shedding started that was incessant.... to the point of waking up and scratching my head repeatedly during the night. Everytime I went to the gym and sweat the itch would come back. Anyways I added dutasteride 3 times a week and bang it's completely gone.... completely. I also added emu oil after I use minoxidil. It's only been a month but I swear for the lack of itch alone it was worth it. I don't care what anyone says the itch is nearly worse than hair loss.....nearly!

Had the same thing happen when I started dutasteride. Was on finasteride for 3 years with horrible scalp itch and continued loss. Two things I noticed on dutasteride: insanely high sex drive and itch was gone. After 2.5 months on it sex drive and erection quality tanked, but itch never came back. I quit due to the sides I started getting and am on just finasteride once again, and weirdly I still have like no scalp itch (even 4 months later). Idk if any of these ar inhibitors have done anything for my hair though.

Hair is by far the worst it has ever been, and is continuing to decline. Hair is diffuse af now.

Yeh it's amazing how psychologically that itch can annoy you especially if it's relentless which it was in my case. Pity you had no joy hair wise with dutasteride. I mix and match 3 days dutasteride and the off days finasteride although I have been told using finasteride in this way is pointless but I wanted to test the waters so to speak. Luckily I haven't had any of your problems but who knows that may well change if I take it every day. That's said I'll take my itchless head for now!

Also i had sexual side from dutasteride. İ had just a bit sexual side with finas ( no morning erection and erection on duty come a bit later . Thats totally fair when you see how it protect your hair till some time.) But dutasteride? Man it really kill your erections after some time, first you see very strong erection and power but it is probably cuz of it increase testo for some time and later ostrogen increasing and dht is fckd up and all you get is complete no erections or very weak. İ am not blaming any medicine , dutasteride was amazing to hair i mean my hair for first time was amazing, regrowth and max 5 hairs falls down in a day. But without powerful erection and completely any joy of orgasm. So i quit man. İ look 10x better with hair, and i can get 10x more girls with dutasteride. Hair is so important till it cost my dick. After 1 month i am back to normal and so happy .

What dosage do you tAke?

0.5mg 3times a week??

I didnt like dutasteride when i was on it everyday and so i switched back to finasteride. Itch and greasy head back though after years without it so i may add dutasteride like you and use in small amounts in addition to finasteride.

Yup 3 times a week @ 0.5 I can't say a thing RE growth or maintenance but the itch is definitely gone. To give you the full picture I have also started taking castor oil orally daily and using emu oil topically. I take finasteride on the "off days" and use minoxidil and nizoral. It's my last roll of the dice!!

Morning erections were not a thing anymore. Couldn't get erect enough to have sex. Sex drive was completely gone. Didn't ever feel like beating off or watching p**rn anymore. Was strange because around 2-3 weeks in my sex drive and erection quality sky rocketed on the stuff for around 1 month then it started to reverse. I legit had to beat off at least 2-3 times a day during that month. I also felt absolutely amazing during that month. May have just been my body adjusting to the increased testosterone. Would love to have that feeling back. Was super excited because at first thought I was going to feel that way on dutasteride forever, but nothing that good lasts long.

I actually kind of have a similar reaction on finasteride just less severe, and it comes on faster and lasts shorter. When I started finasteride again after being off ar inhibitors for a month or so after quitting duta I had the same reaction, except quicker and less extreme. After like 4-5 days on the stuff my sex drive and erection quality increased. Lasted like 2 weeks then things went back to baseline or a little below. Sex drive and erection quality might be lower than normal (probs not), but still able to have sex fine. When girlfriend is in town we f*** at least 3 times a day, and would probably do more if she'd let me, so its not an issue on finasteride.

Gents just a quick update. So I'm a month and a half in using dutasteride 4 times a week and finasteride on the off days. I plan to see how that goes for 6 months. So far what I've noticed.
1) the itch has completely gone even when I sweat profusely
2) the insane shed has stopped that seemed to be induced by finasteride loosing it's effectiveness.
3) I know I know I know there's no way it could be at this early stage the back feels thicker than before.
4) definite frontal loss.... not catastrophic but definite nonetheless.
5) I've noticed too that although the shedding is greatly reduced maybe only 5-10 hairs any hairs I shed are tiny/thin before I was shedding all over thick ones and thin ones with an incessant itch. Not sure what this all means but sure let's see what 6 months looks like.
