So, I lost family. I found myself battling acne my entire life until accutane. After that, I noticed hair loss.

I haven't been fortunate with genetics. Bad skin, hair loss brought on by medication, below middle class status, in terms of manhood, I am way under average, and I have been teased by girls.

I read A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. I am happy. I love and accept myself. I practice cold approach. I workout too 3x a week. I am practicing meditation. I got a date but, it only came after self acceptance. There is a lot of negativity on the forums. You just have to find it in yourself to create a life worth living. You don't have to listen to the noise in the soundtrack of your mind that says women won't like you or you aren't enough. If I can do it, date, and find meaning in my life, anyone can.

Bruce Lee once said, "immortality is in living a life worth remembering."

"If you've been scared of the shadow that has been following you, just remember, wherever the shadow is, the light is always near by." :D

Although this could have come out of some cheesy self-help book... I do agree.

I look at my hair loss as something that can possibly be helped, but self acceptance is still there, if it isn't helped the world isn't over. I am fine with who I am.

I'm reading The Power of Now by the same guy

Yeah, I read stillness speaks, power of now, and a new earth. It gives a new meaning to be the observer, watch my ego, free flowing thoughts. I also liked Peaceful Warrior. I realize I need to surrender to what is and truly let go. I've never been more free. I have after effects of accutane. I am not thrilled nor am I of a slight receeding hair line.

I like faux hawk or business look. I love people (which can be ego if I attach myself to that) and I won't be persuaded to refrain from projecting my true self.

I love me and the world too much to hold back.

I agree with you. I have my battles still and half of it is in knowing. I still continue on. The date could flake, my hair could change but, finding peace in the moment is all that matters. Most of my life, I've been at war with the moment. The more I am accepting the better my life is.

Great post, very inspirational. I always meant to read about the teachings of Eckhart Tolle but never got to it for some reason. I am not surprised at all that you got your date only after self acceptance. It is true that outside appearances are important (no s**t! Sherlock :D , but having a positive attitude can truly make a difference. We onlyhave to observe ourselves from time to time and see how amazingly things fall in place certain days when you have that unique feeling of joy and certitude about things, and we have all had those days when all hell breaks loose, no matter what we do. Hang in there and keep smiling.

Mental Things are alone Real; what is called corporeal, nobody knows of its dwelling Place; it is in fallacy, and its existence an imposture. Where is the existence out of mind or thought? - William Blake

That which ye sow ye reap. See yonder fields! The sesamum was sesamum, the corn was corn. The Silence and the Darkness knew! So is a man’s fate born. - The Light of Asia

Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]
If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the father's kingdom is in the sky, then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, it is in the sea, then the fish will precede you. Rather, the father's kingdom is within you and it is outside you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty. - The Gospel of Thomas

Thanks. I notice the negativity on the forum and it saddens me as if I were to look into a fond and see me own reflection not long ago. There needs to be a catalyst of support to remind us that no matter how hard or dark it gets, the light isn't too far off. Even now, I relive all those I lost, notice hair loss or a more pronounced receeding hair line. Before that was bad skin since puberty. It is easy for it to take hold of you. To get caught up in those emotions and react to them. I am finding myself in a place where I feel it, I observe it, and let pass. I needed to love myself again before I could be open to receive it. I wish this for all of you.

Its been awhile guys. I have been doing a bunch of meditation. I am not good at it but, you pretty much just let go. You hear your thoughts or you feel what it is but, you let it pass. For anybody seeking something to help guide them, download the app calm. Its free and it may help you get started. Some youtube videos like oolong, Alan Wats, Eckhart Tolle, Depak Chopra, and others are pretty awesome.

An update on hair, its pretty good, and I am working on maximizing it through diet and holistic supplements.

What a stupid post, the guy speaks about self-acceptance, then goes to post a picture of an actor with a hairline accepted by 99% of society.

Try self-acceptance when you're bald, then you can spit at us your words of wisdom and get a real challenge. Accepting a Norwood 2 isn't called "self-acceptance", it's just called "not being a spoiled entitled *** brat".

I'm gonna create a topic called "Self-acceptance", i'll talk about how i can manage to live with not that much money and then explain how i'm contented with just a BMW, a house, and 150.000K/year salary and i'll post some indian quotes about how we should refrain from having material values.
