The masturbation theory put to the test

Since this has been a major topic on the board, I figure why not be a guinea-pig and put it to the test.

I've decided to go a year and keep masturbating or having sex with a girl less then two times a month.

Why am I doing this? My hairloss didn't start until I became addicted to masturbating and starting doing it more then once a day when I was 20. My hairloss also seemed to be the worse over the last 5 years when I was doing it like mad.

Is this a coincidence? Most likely. But why not see what happens if I cut back for a year.

I've been on the big three for 9 months and haven't had any improvement since the third month. While my hairloss has appeared to stop and my hair thicker on top, I'm looking for a little regrowth in the temples.

While I doubt I'll get any improve, but I'm still better off for myself if I stop my addiction anyhow.

Elias, I tried the same thing vis-a-vis masturbation, and still keep an eye on it to keep it minimized.

It does nothing for the hair. But, I do notice that I am more mentally focused.

Focused on getting pussy.

THAT is enough of a reason.

Its genetics mate, so just deal with it- that is the hand you were dealt, not the hand you were masterbating with.

Don't know why people want to keep this theory alive. How many bald Pornstars have you seen? Ron Jeremy is one Hairy Bastard, if you used a second hand on a clock to count how many times he ejaculated you could use that clock as a fan

I get like a man in prison when I don't get my daily abuse.

Haha!

Personally, I dont think its possible to go 60 days without gettin' off. Perhaps for a woman, but most certainly not for any normal man.

ok so does this theory relate just to masturbation or sex in general because i would assume if wanking affected hairloss, than sex would do the same?

in that case what point is there having hair and not having sex?

And therein lies the fundematal flaw of this silly theory.

lol unless the hair follicles can differentiate between masterbation and sex, if they can then i doubt we will ever find a cure for male pattern baldness!

Well, for me, my hair loss is visibly reduced after I reduced the frequency of masturbation/sex. Now I can’t say for sure, it was because of masturbation/sex, it could be because of other factors but as for me, it looks like it.

I think sex and musturbation have same impact on hair loss (if any).

As I have already mentioned I am also going to cut back on masterbation (not sex) in hope that it will do something to help my hairloss. I don't really think its too healthy masterbating every day.... but I'm no scientist.

Pornstars might have sex for a living, but they only do a shoot once a day I'm sure. that's 1-2 ejaculat during a filming, thats nothing. How many girls do they f*** on film? maybe once a wk max?? I'm thinking more like only once every 2 wks. Some people can masterbate/ejaculate 6-7 times a day. So comparing pornstars to masterbation is totally way off. I'm sure there are many healthy couples that do it more often that p**rn stars do. Also keep in mind that p**rn stars usually have to get ready, and i highly doubt he wacks it the night b4 the shoot or the morning. They probably hold it in for at least 3-4 days b4. Then in that case, they actually don't masterbate much at all...

Two things need to be cleared up here. First, the reason masturbation is mentioned when this topic comes up is because it is asumed that the average male is doing it on a regular, consistent bases. It is not asumed that the average male is having sex with a partner one or more times a day, year after year. Yes, there are exceptions to this rule.

Secondly, the focus should be on how it affects males who are genetically predisposed to hair loss, not males who will never have to worry about losing their hair no matter what they do. No, ejaculating regularly is not the cause of hair loss, but of more interest is if it speeds up the process in any way.

I personally have no reason to believe it does since there is no solid evidence to back up that claim, but I thought I would point these things out since everytime this topic comes up most of the posts are taken up with people asking how masturbating is different than ejaculating when having sex and why aren't all men balding if this theory is true. I just don't understand why there is always such confusion over this.

i TOTALLY agree with you. and i totally support this little experiment this guys doing. afterall, its all hormones and therefore all related at some level. please keep us updated.

the idea that masturbation or sex or any form of excessive (i mean more than once a week) ejaculation triggers or speeds up hairloss has no scientific sanction, however neither can anybody definitively prove that hairloss is not triggered or exacerbated by said activities.

I think we should be supporting this guy, i mean can any of you guys make and live up to a pledge like that?

and someone said if he proves that hairloss is exacerbated by frequent masterbation or sex, then wats the point of having hair if you stop having sex? well, some people may value their hair over sex, because it may be giving them confidence, so it will be a worthwhile trade off for them at least.

all in all, please can certain individual stop being SOOO DAMN HOSTILE to anybody that even suggests frequent sex or masterbation can exacerbate hairloss. and stop ridiculing people. this is not the place for that. Just afford people the respect and courtesy to present and debate theories in a civil and hopefully scientific manner.

Good luck my friend!

I am the first to claim that increased sex drive is a result and not a cause of increased androgens but I am so tired of this pornstar argument:

WHAT tells you that these guys ejaculate more often than a nerd in a basement?!! WHAT tells you that they do not conceal their male pattern baldness?

arguments like: pornstars do that, football players do not go bald, tennis players go bald e.t.c really bore me(I thought they were funny at first).
