I ordered tricomin and will be starting on rogaine foam or minoxidil since its a bit cheaper. What do you guys think. Also I'm really trying to stay away from any pills for health reasons.

Are we any closer to having anything replace minoxidil. Would bimatoprost or any of the growth factor treatments(dermaheal) be a replacement for minoxidil. minoxidil is an ok product, but I hate going through these sheds I've been on it for about 2 years, and I still go through sheds.

I really think that Bimatoprost may be a good growth simulant, like I said earlier in this guide, the FDA is currently conducting clinical trials for the approval of Bimatoprost for a hair loss treatment.

Lumigen is now available in a generic for a lot cheaper than Latisse I have been thinking about ordering some...[/quote]

Where is Lumigen sold? Does it come in a powder form like RU? I found that an online pharmacy is selling a generic latisse solution. Its $20 for a .03% 3ml bottle.

Thanks alot for this post dude, being able to read about all the the low down on all the treatments is very useful. I also had no Idea that Ketoconazole is a potential anti-androgen.

I quit using finasteride in my regimen and I'm not sure how well it's going to work long-term without a strong anti-androgen. Is there anything you would recommend as a replacement? Maybe that RU that seems to be gaining steam?

Both pro-drug components possess anti-acne properties, however, due to their hydrophilic character, they barely penetrate the skin and thus, their therapeutic benefits are limited. A new treatment for SD. Interesting.

TU-2100 is Safe and Effective in the Treatment of Oily Skin
A "cosmetic" clinical study was undertaken to assess the safety of TU-2100 lotion and to determine its effect on sebum excretion rate (SER). The study, which was performed by Dr. A. Kligman, a leading dermatologist from the University of Pennsylvania. Sebum excretion rates declined by 30-44%, reaching normal levels within 4 weeks of treatment in all study volunteers. This observation is particularly important, in light of the current belief that "No topical therapies influence the production of sebum" (Leyden J, New England Journal of Medicine, 1997). Thus, TU-2100 possesses a unique mode of action. It does not appear to act like any of the existing topical agents in the alleviation of excessive sebum excretion.

It's all about money, not what benefits the consumers. More effective (and less expensive) treatments would be seen as a threat.

Hair Restoration and Anti-Gray Hair Effects

There are still few effective topical substances for androgenetic alopecia (Androgenetic Alopecia). In this study, we found that roxithromycin (RXM) has anti-apoptotic and anti-gray hair effects on Androgenetic Alopecia in vitro, and indeed, clinically improved or prevented hair loss of Androgenetic Alopecia. RXM is a 14-member new macrolide antibiotic and has been extensively used for prevention and treatment of systemic and local infection. In addition, recent studies revealed RXM also has various modulatory bioactivities of many kinds of cells, such as Langerhans cells, keratinocytes and T cells. Human hair follicles, obtained from plastic surgery with informed consent, were cultured for 6 days. In the control group, hair elongation was 1.96  0.19 mm. On the other hand, it was 3.4 0.20 mm and 3.32 0.19 mm in 5 M RXM and 10 M RXM treated group, respectively in vitro. The groups treated with 5 M CLM (2.17 0.13 mm), 10 M (1.93  0.18 mm), 5 M EM (2.85  0.13 mm), 10 M EM (2.05  0.19 mm) showed no significant hair elongation compared with the control group. Next, 11 male individuals suffering from Androgenetic Alopecia topically applied 8 ml RXM at 0.5% in alcoholic solution once a day for 6 months with informed consent. Photographs were then scored, 4 patients apparently showed improvement of hair restoration, 4 patients were more than slight improvement, and 3 patients were no improvement. Topical RXM used under these conditions was safe without any local and systemic adverse effects. The beneficial effects of RXM seem to result from prevention of apoptosis of matrix cells and melanocytes in human hair follicles. RXM is a promising candidate for effective and safe treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia.

400mg/8ml once a day. I guess the ethanol content was very high since they applied 8 ml at once. The entire head would be soaking wet if the solution didn't evaporate rapidly.
