1) Finasteride
2) Dutasteride
3) Spironolactone

That's it.

Forget Nizoral, it does ****. Minoxidil - a rip off and joke.

If you want to really know the REAL BIG 3, then this is it.

I already hear some pussy crying:
Oh...but MUH SIDESS!

Yeah, dude, if you aren't getting sides, then the drug ISN'T WORKING.

What? You actually thought you will keep your hair and not pay the price?

The sides will be there and if you want to keep your hair you will endure them.

Not if you take spironolactone or all of them together. Then the sides are pretty much GUARANTEED.

I think its insane to leave out an anti-inflammatory. Nizoral was never intended to be a "hair loss treatment" and when I see guys "leaving it on their heads for an hour" - that is ridiculous. That isn't what its for. Nizorals importance is reducing inflammation reaction locally in the scalp. That's all it really does. If you are viewing it as a growth stimulant or antiandrogen - maybe a microsliver of it will have that effect. But leaving it out only allows inflammation to run rampant, and ruins your chances of success on Propecia, etc. So in a sense I agree with the first post (its not something to be relied on for antiandrogen/growth stimulating), but I fully disagree that it has no value in a regimen. Its huge. In fact one of the most important aspects is reducing inflammation.

If you rely at all on the Propecia study data, you have to include a similar type shampoo, because they used an anti-inflammatory coal tar shampoo in the trials. I was on Propecia for 11 months and saw no results until I added Nizoral and got the itch and inflammation and redness under control.

Admin, that must be why I'm getting a really itchy scalp at the moment. Must buy some more nizoral, as this itch is really doing my head in!

As a general rule - if you itch - your products aren't going to work very well.

Must have environment of zero itch.

And even those who don't itch - inflammation can still be present.

I use Nizoral and Revita shampoos (which also has keto in it). I'm never sure how long I should leave them on my scalp for - I guess longer isn't necessarily better. I just stick to the instructions of a few minutes

It's around the hairline especially. Although do think am getting folliculitus as well :/ problem is, by the time I get into my GP about it (when I can get an appointment) it's gone. Will buy some nizoral tomorrow though, as if it helps with the itch, that would be a godsend :)

I apply, rinse, and reapply. Then I let it soak for duration of shower. When I rinse, I only lightly do a quick drench of the hair. I know there's still nizoral residue there because i can smell it. I dry off. That leaves a small bit to sit for some time. But not enough to damage my skin.

how often do you use nizoral? The instructions say once a week, but obviously that's intended for dandruff use not hairloss.

I disagree with this statement. The first two drugs have wide therapeutic indices.

For the vast majority of people, spironolactone is overkill. Most do not need to take all three to have significant positive results. "Big 3" is a loaded phrase. Be definition, physiology and disease are specific to the individual. Don't use an elephant gun to kill a field mouse.

If you read any of the studies which have been linked ad nauseam, they all say how many times a week they applied it. Which is usually 2-4 times a week.

A lot of people tend not to believe the like 6 or 7 studies that have shown nizoral to work but I wanna point out again that bodybuilders who were taking steroids and thus exposing their hairs to high levels of androgens were the first ones to notice that nizoral helped them keep their hair. Mags like Muscle Media 2000 and Muscular Development reported on this a bunch of times and this was in the 90s before any of the studies were ever done. The reason they ever tested it in hair loss in the first place is because people reported it helped them keep their hair so it works pretty well for some people. I think some just have very aggressive hair loss and nizoral only slows it down or just doesn't work in them. Its worked for me and I've been on it for like 10+ yrs.

Minoxidil works for many people for a time but male pattern baldness continues, everyone should know that by now. Sorry you had no results but that was you.

You apparently have agressive male pattern baldness.

It depends what you mean by "work".

Nizoral is supposed to be added to keep the scalp environment inflammation-free. In that sense - it works, and it is imperative for Propecia to work fully.

If you mean Nizoral as a growth stimulant or antiandrogen - that's another story.
