I haven't seen one created and I figured we can create one that shares the Topical finasteride Experience

I am currently using Dr. Lees 6% w/finasteride.

No Side Effects that I know of yet. 3 weeks in

I dont really believe in topical finasteride anymore, it runs through the whole body just like oral but its weaker, right?

I mean, whats the advantage?

And if theres an advantage (like less finasteride through your system), whats left of the effectiveness of the finasteride?

I read/heard on this forum that it absorbs less systematically. I would like to know for sure.

When I did try .5 mg of internal finasteride i was having ball ache and watery semen. now i'm on this and I do not have those side effects.

.5ml on both temples. 1x per day at night. I believe I am experiencing slight shedding.

I'm tempted to use this on my crown. My crown is barely thinning and I use Tricomin on it now.....but I dont want it to go....any suggestions guys? should I use this on it now to help keep it? or would starting on my crown now when it's intact lead to disaster!!!!? lol :dunno: :dunno:

I also get sides from topical finasteride. Tried home-made cream and Nanominox-FMS.

There just isnt a lot of research, is there?

I asked dr. Lee about his Xandrox 15+ formulation, and this is what he had to say:

Hi there,

I was wondering, just how effective the finasteride in your topical is, compared to taking 1,25 mg a day.

Xandrox15-PLUS would be far more effective than finasteride alone or 5% minoxidil + oral finasteride.

There are definite advantages to 'using 948 as compared to 940'. Cost. The benefits of a 15% minoxidil / 5% azelaic acid solution (Xandrox15) are combined with finasteride with little additional cost as compared to the cost of 940 plus 1mg finasteride tablets. Convenience. The use of a high concentration topical minoxidil, combined with agents that decrease the amount of DHT in the scalp utilizes the two FDA safe and proven treatments for male pattern baldness in one medication.

Although topical azelaic acid will prevent the synthesis of DHT in the scalp where it is applied, it does not protect the hair follicles from DHT circulating in the bloodstream. Finasteride applied topically can and does decrease the serum DHT and, although the 5-alpha reductase enzymes in the scalp is primarily Type I, there are also Type II 5AR's in the scalp that the topically applied finasteride inhibits.

Xandrox15-PLUS does allow for systemic absorption of finasteride from a topical application, but the serum levels of finasteride would be less than that from a comparable oral dose. As reported in an article from the British Medical Journal, 'An 0.05% formulation of topical finasteride was well absorbed and lowered the serum dihydrotestosterone concentration by up to 40%. This suggests that the main action of finasteride is to lower circulating dihydrotestosterone through inhibiting production by the prostate, rather than affecting the metabolism of androgen in the hair follicle.' The concentration of finasteride in Xandrox15-PLUS is double the concentration in the study mentioned above. One would expect that 0.1% would be more effective than 0.05%, but we cannot extrapolate your response to the topical versus the oral doses because of the inherently wide biological and pharmacological variations.

I just passed the 2-month mark with Nanominox FMS. I stopped noticing hair falling out the first week I made the switch from regular minoxidil. It also goes on smooth and seems to be nice to my scalp :)

I believe this to be the best topical available. Stick with it if you don't get any sides, we look forward to knowing about your results.

:bravo:

well it's been a little over two months and I'm getting nervous as I've started losing quite a bit of hair. Worried if it stopped working, if it is my rogaine gains falling out or if it's a shed.... advice please.

To my mind, a treatment cannot work for 2 months and then stop. Shedding often appears when changing your regime.

As you're not taking oral finasteride, I would stick with it for at least 6 months unless you experience a dramatic fallout. Let's see if that ingredient works topically for you, I believe it's the one that can give more advantatge.

I hear you. Keep telling myself it's the dreaded shed.. it's freaking me out though..! did you get on it yet guybrush or still trying oral? I wanna try 0.25 +FMS, but it'd be hard to tell which one is working...

I eventually droped the oral and I'm currently using a low dose (0,2ml) of Nanominox-FMS on either the front or the crown (alternate days). No way I can increase the dose because of minoxidil sulfate. It gives me heart running.

It's so frustrating to see how easily topicals make their way into my bloodstream. I can't keep nizoral onto my scalp for long either and when using regular minoxidil I had to cut the dose to 0.7ml.

BTW, I have no idea whether my current regimen with Nanominox will help but I have been on it for a week. I wrote to Sinere wondering if they could provide me with a regular minoxidil Nanominox-FMS but no response so far.

Is your shed that dramatic? I mean, is there a visible difference when you look at the mirror? I believe minoxidil sulfate to be stronger than 15% regular minoxidil, so that could account for a massive shedding. If that is the case it shouldn't last for long and your hair would be back in a month or two.

I'm just speculating though.

I see, so you got sides from oral? That sucks about the minoxidil sides, do you apply once or twice a day? I now apply once a day right after showering in the evening when the scalp is wet. I don´t know if it might have given me a slight increase in acne. I see some on my scalp and some on my back. I´ve been troubled for years with facial acne.. Also I don´t know but I might be getting some bollock aches every now and then.

I don´t know if the shed is THAT dramatic, but I do lose quite a bit of hair when showering and right after. This has slowed down since my last post. I can try to pull my hair during the day without pulling anything out.

I posted baseline pics on the network. Was going to post a 2 month update, but I´m out at sea and don´t have a steady access to the internet, besides it´s really slow. But I´m almost at month 3 now :)

Oh btw Guybrush, do you know how many ml´s sinere´s dropper is? I have no idea how much I put on...

If one dose of oral finasteride is equivalent to one propecia. Isn't doing two applications like your supposed to with minoxidil like taking 2mg of finasteride. Which would be allot and cause a bigger shed because its more of a shock to your system.

Topical finasteride results are mostly from internally. I would think it takes longer to see results being it takes longer to get systematically. And who's to say how much liquid is needed to get a precise amount you would from oral finasteride? It could be more then needed and induce more chances of sides, or vice versa, less then needed and then less results fading back to being bald again.

yeah I don´t know... I guess it´s kind of a guinea pig project, but I´ve heard good things about Sinere´s products so thought I´d give it a try. Haven´t seen much gains, but then again it´s only been 3 months. I think I´ll try to stick it out for 6 months at least, but even if I quit I think I´ll stick to Sinere for minoxidil. Good stuff.
I don´t notice much hair falling during the day; it´s when I shower that I see it...

Well, not much to report yet. Too early to see any regrowth. I guess I shed periodically; most of the time it´s hardly anything. Passed the four month mark now and will try to post some pictures. I´m going to give it 6 months at least before I´ll consider adding 0.25 finasteride.. This stuff is smooth though I must say. My scalp feels really good, so does my hair. On rogaine it was itching and felt like crap.... I think rogaine must have been one of the biggest mistakes I ever did :shakehead:
anyone else doing any topical finasteride?
