The Uncanny Ambiguity Of Dutasteride

I have read quite a number of horror stories of people switching from finasteride to dutasteride, or just starting out on dutasteride alone. These people have written about not only not seeing any progress from dutasteride, but experiencing MASSIVE sheds so bad that their temples (according to them) get completely destroyed.

One thing i've noticed that nearly all of these posts have in common, however, is that these people are reporting their results only after a few months of treatment AND with no pictures.

The posts that i've seen on here of people using dutasteride for 1 year or more are far and few.....but i've pretty much always have read about their success in thickening/maintenance on the drug....

so, could it be that due to dutasteride's superior dht inhibiting abilities, the shedding process lasts longer and is more drastic, something necessary for good results on the drug? Or is the anecdotal evidence on dutasteride shedding light on something not mentioned in official testings?

I'm Norwood 1 with crown and frontal thinning. I've been taking it for around 5 months, for the first 2 of those I was on 2.5 mg per day of brand name Avodart. During the end of those 2 months I felt shedding slowed down (which I never had with 1 year plus 2 months on finasteride) but I also felt my libido was lowered so I just went down to the usual 0.5 mg per day to get some of it back since dutasteride is dose dependent. Now it's about 3 months later and I feel like my libido is back to the same place for when I used to take finasteride, perhaps a bit lower in comparison (can't really remember) but it's fine enough to me. Though, now I feel the shedding is still on going (similar to when I was on finasteride). Felt like I was getting more results with 2.5 mg but that could be wishful thinking.
