ok , so i have made the hypothesis that those who are more prone to gyno or puffy nipples on propecia are
those with little to no body hair .

Particularly with no chest hair , because chest hair are determined by the amount of dht receptor a personn have . ME for exemple i have got totaly no body hair ( but losing my hair , really sensitive androgen receptor in the scalp) , no dht receptor in the chest area , so i was more prone to gyno .

Any opinion about this theory?

There's no convincing research out there on who is more prone to finasteride sides.

I'm not a hairy guy and I'm gyno prone. Lately I've been getting a lot of body hair growth though, due to the raise in test that finasteride is causing....

i am hairless but i didn't get any gyno during puberty . But since propecia i am gyno prone .
THE only raise of body hair i got is due to the minoxidil .

I meant I am NOT prone to gyno, sorry.
Yea, it could also be minoxidil causing body hair growth but I'm not sure.

There was actually a bodybuilding forum thread and some dude broke down the most realistic explanation on why some men get gyno on finasteride and steroids. It's all anecdotal but I have to say he proved some solid points. I can't be bothered to go find the page but what he was saying is that the three body types such as:

  • Ectomorph: Lean and long, with difficulty building muscle.
  • Endomorph: Big, high body fat, often pear-shaped, with a high tendency to store body fat.
  • Mesomorph: Muscular and well-built, with a high metabolism and responsive muscle cells.
Endomorph would be the ones most susceptible

I can't obviously disprove his theory, but I would be an ectomorph and am developing mild gyno after 3 months of finasteride.

DHT protects against (blocks) estrogens ... when you take anti-DHT your testosterone increases and estrogen with it ...
and the DHT-shield is not here anymore to protect you again estrogens ... that's all.

When guys have gynecomastie doctors give them Andractim : DHT Gel.

And why some people have gyno and other don't ... just because some because have more estrogen and less testosterone. And because, like some women have big boobs and others very little breats ..., some guys are more prone to gyno than others.

Are you developing tissue in your chest or is it just simply fat accumulation in chest (pseudogyno), if you have any irritation/pain I urge you to get off finasteride asap and talk to a doctor about short term AI treatment

There is no irritation/pain. They just look a bit perky, so maybe its pseudogyno. I am sure its not in my head as I have always been lean. Thanks, I have stopped taking finasteride and am thinking of taking 50mg zinc tablets. Incidentally, I don't have much body hair, but that might also be because I am 21y.

I had crazy body hair at 18 lol, puffy nipples is definitely finasterides doing and I don't think you're imagining it at all, the good news is 3 months is wayyyyy more than enough time for real breast tissue to develop so if you keep your estro in check you'll likely only ever have the symptom of puffy nipples, I know it sucks but it's better than actual tissue forming lol. So what's your next move? Do you plan to get back on finasteride?

a small increase in estro may influence fat redistribution to your chest, a major one will do that and give you tissue

So if there's breast tissue underneath the area will feel sensitive and so no sensitivity probably means just fat tissue? If so that would be a big relief. I want to get back on finasteride as I think finasteride is more potent because it takes care of the root cause of hair loss. My hair fall has definitely decreased a lot, no more crazy sheds in the shower. I am also taking minoxidil so I am not sure what's the major player here.

I will take zinc tablets and resume using 0.5mg finasteride if/after my chest goes back to normal (will it?) What do you think about DIM?
