Things To Bring On Vacation And Working Out

Hey guys, so I'm finally going to be getting my system next Saturday from a salon which is exciting. However, about 1.5 weeks after, I'll be going on vacation to Abilene. I was wondering what people recommended bringing with me. Currently, in preparation for my system, I bought the starter kit from Curtis(pro hair labs shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, scalp protector, ghost bond, citrus cleaner, rubbing alcohol, cotton balls, hair band, soft brush, comb) along with walker ultra hold and Max sport. I'll also probly be purchasing some walker blue tape and silk pillowcases soon. Wondering what I should be bringing along with me to Abilene.

The other question I have is for working out. Specifically for cardio, I was wondering if anybody has tried wearing a headband while working out. I figure that would help soak up and absorb the sweat on the forehead and plus it can anchor the system down to the head preventing any lifts. Anybody tried this before?

Hi Kashmoney

Best of luck with the fitting man. That sounds like a pretty comprehensive tool bag. I would add a brush with blunt teeth (the sort with little round plastic bobbles), a good big hand-held mirror (for checking the back of the unit), some toothpicks (for applying a tiny amount of glue for any tiny base-lifts), and a bandana or ballcap for disaster scenarios (which are not going to happen btw, but you'll feel better to have them covered anyway). Also check that the leave-in conditioner has a good high-factor sunscreen in it, and if not, get one that does. That is critical - the sun that far South is harsh, and can really shorten the life of your unit if you don't protect it, either with sunscreen or a hat.

No reason why you shouldn't wear a headband at the gym, although you shouldn't need it. It might give you a sense of having a bit of cover for the first few times, till you get used to the idea that the system is not coming off. Do take a water bottle, and once you start to sweat, go over to the water cooler and douse your head and piece with water. Otherwise you will likely find that your biohair gets soaked and sticks to your head, but your system hair remains dry and puffy, which can be a giveaway that it's a system. Wetting your head at the cooler looks totally natural, but it stops that happening.

Enjoy your holiday!

Thanks Noah! Any recommendations for any good leave in conditioners that contain sunscreen in it?

This is the one I use, which you can get on Amazon. It has an SPF 30 sunscreen.

I always do yoga on vacation and take a mat with me. How I envy you! I haven't gone on vacation or traveled in a long time. And all because my whole family and I got covid this winter. My dad was very sick and ended up in the hospital. After that kind of stress, everyone has barely recovered, and now we can hardly wait to get vaccinated. I read that you can get following six months after the illness, and I really hope so. Then I can take my family on a trip to a neighboring state to have a great time check it out. I think we all miss new experiences and a bit of a break from the routine right now.

I like to travel light and on (pre Covid) international flights usually took just a carry on case which has a 7 kg limit. So I take a spare lace wig, small roll of tape, and a small less than 100 ml bottle of lace release called Glitz. Anything else, like scissors, I buy and use there, then throw away before flying again.
