Thinking of going back on Finasteride

So Im considering going back on Finasteride. It worked really really well for me as far as my hair goes, I got almost all of it back. But unfortunately I had side effects. I dont know if it was loss of sex drive or what but it would be hard to get it up and in a couple cases impossible. I didnt want to loose my girlfriend so I stopped taking it and now all my hairs gone again. Im single now and considering taking it again, but I know the same thing will happen. Has anyone experienced any way around the side effects. I know Ive read tons of forums on this but I wanted to post my own. Any advice you can give would be helpful.
Thanks!

If you really were getting the side effects it might not be the smartest decision going back on it. I would try shaving your hair really short and see how it looks. Obviously most people won't look as good bald as with hair but some actually pull it off really well. If you can't stand it, weigh the pros vs the cons. There is no way to guarantee your not going to get the sides. You can try slowly increasing your dosage, but that is not really guaranteed to work and the sides might hit you all at once. I am currently taking propecia without symptoms, which seems like a blessing, but it has literally slowed my hair loss none whatsoever. If I were you I would shave my head first, but if you literally hate how that looks then I would try slowly increasing your dosage. Start with 1/8 pill every other day for a couple weeks and slowly increase. There are no studies showing that works but I have heard many people have success with that.

I wish they could figure out the relationship between dht testosterone and erections. Even many transgender men with penises can get erections... Yet some men who take finasteride can't?

If it does prevent you from getting erections I wouldn't take it. It's not worth it. No harm in trying again to see what happens.

I'm talking about the men that take estrogen and female hormones to become more feminine.

Man that is a tough spot to be in....like Swoop suggested, I would try a lower dosage and add in something like nizoral or minoxidil...minoxidil seems to be doing nothing for me, but I know that certain guys only use minoxidil and were able to regrow most of their lost hair. Other guys say it made them balder, but who knows. I'd read around the forums about minoxidil and at least consider a 6 month run. Good luck.

^ typical fear mongerer rebuttal

I guess he could try a lower dose but it seems to be a pretty clear decision between erections and keeping hair for OP.

propecia causes cancer in 0 people(other than breast cancer in older men which occurred once in clinical trials), where would you even get that from.

and dench, my bad i thought that was a generalized comment but it was to the op who suffered sexual sides.

I'm thinking about it too, I mean even though I'm a 20 year old male in my prime, I'm on anti-depressants which also lower my sex drive. What have I got to lose haha.

^that's deep.. find a dosage that has a good balance, it'd better to be taking .33 mg propecia a day rather than nothing
