My current situation is this I have been on the big 3 for 3 years now. I have enjoyed great success. However, I just buzzed my head, as I have been known to do from time to time and it revealed the ugly truth. It looks like my male pattern baldness is catching up to Propecia. From my research I have found that this is not unusual. I have also discvocered that many who were in the same situation switched to Avodart and had continued success. I have several questions about this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) How hard is it to get a perscription for Avodart, for hairloss, from your GP?

2) If my GP says no, where else could I obtain a perscription? From a hair transplant doctor? Somewhere else?

3) Has anyone been in my position and made the switch? What were the results?

Thanks!

Is there any problems buying from United Pharmicies if I live in the US? I just submitted an application for the online medical wellness center for a script. Is this site still operational?

I think there is a reason that most doctors won't prescribe Avodart for hairloss. I have always kept the thought of dutasteride in the back of my mind when my regimen stops maintaining. But when that day comes, I will be incredibly reluctant to push those pills down my throat in order to keep my hair.

I attempted to get a script through the online medical wellness center. It does not seem that their site is operational any longer. I have not got an email saying that I was denied and they have not charged my account for the fee. Does anyone know anything about this? What are some other avenues to get Avodart safely? I am going to talk to my GP on thursday. I am anticipating a no from him on the off label request, but it can't hurt to ask. Can/will a hair transplant doctor prescribe me Avodart?

Ok so the online wellness center came through. I have a script and it was called in. Do I just take a leap of faith stop propecia and start avodart? What should expect?

Got my script. With my insurance it was $56. That's like $20 less than I was paying for propecia.

So I have been taking Avodart .5/per day for about three weeks. My hair was pretty short when I started and I think my hair may be seeing some benefits as a result. However, I have gained 4-5 pounds in the past weeks while reducing my BF%. I have tried to do some research, but there seems to be little information out there on the topic of Avodart and increased muscle gains. I figured this board would be as good as any to ask about this. Is it possible I am benefiting from the increased T-levels associated with the lack of conversion to DHT? I train pretty hard and eat clean 95% of the time. Well anyways I find this to be a curious result and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hey MSU4life.

wow, your situation is just like mine! I'v been on big 3 for about 3 and half yrs. recenlty I have switched to stronger minoxidil (10%). next one, i'mma move it up to 15%. however, as far as the dht blocker, I'm thinking about switching to dutasteride as well because it seems like finasteride lost it's effectiveness or my hairloss is too strong for finasteride to hold on to it. your story is a great info and motivation for me. keep updating. I'm ordering my dutasteride next week.
Good luck man.l;
