Thinking of trying 15% minoxidil. Advice needed

Guys,

Been on 5% minoxidil (w/ 5% azelaic acid) plus 1mg finasteride (brand Finpecia) since 2001 with excellent results; I basically maintained a NW1.

However in the last few months I feel I may be losing some ground in the frontal area. It may also be stress related as Ive been dealing with a lot of personal stress due to the loss of my wife.

Anyways, thinking about trying out perfect image minoxidil 15%. It has excellent reviews on amazon, particularly for effectiveness in the frontal areas. (I wish Dr Lee were still in business, but at least we have a few other options.)

What can I expect with the transition? Will I shed? I need my hair now more than ever as I am unwillingly thrust back into the dating world.

Thanks, friends. DLR

Very sorry for your loss.

Regarding PIS (nice acronym huh), I've always been pretty suspicious of that company and all the 'amazing' reviews on amazon, yet noone on these forums or the other main ones ever mention success using it. :dunno:

Thanks guys. Can you recommend an alternative to PIS? Do you feel that their products are bogus and not really minoxidil?

I hate to think that my loss of ground over the last few months was due to switching over to their products?!

I am sorry for your loss.

you can try mopc labs or minoxidil max. they have the 15% solutions. I suggest to use 10% minoxidil before 15% so when the 10% loses its effectiveness then you will have a higher dose to use.

Dr. Lee said that minoxidil is dose dependent and to my own experience, I believe it as well. thats why you should go up to 10% then 15%.

I've thought about it, calmed down, and will stick with P.I.S. for now. Given the options, they seem the most legit unless one wants to go back to the Rogaine grease (without the benefit of azelaic acid as well!)

I highly doubt that PIS are bogus, simply because compounding a simple minoxidil/azelaic acid mixture alone would be easier than developing their web presence and professional packaging. While not as nice feeling as Xandrox, I am sure the mixture is what it claims and the medical outcome is probably equal.

On the other hand MOPC & Minoxidilmax look far more fly-by-night than Perfect Image Solutions, with even less information about their effectiveness.

Therefore, I decided to add P.I.S. 10% minoxidil for night use, rotating 5% by day. I'll report back in a few months.

In the meantime, Dr. Lee: Please come back!

Thanks all!

It is costly to use, but I have bought and used 9 bottles of perfect image minoxidil 15% so far. before i was using 5% minoxidil foam/liquid with limited results.

My Frontal hair line is filling in, hair is getting thicker. I not claiming its this miracle snake oil but for some the 15% seams to be more effective than 5%.

Whats interesting is, I have scare on my forehead/top of head, from car accident and that is where my hair line was when I started PIS. Its now at least 1/4 in lower. Without that reference point it would be a lot harder to tell or gauge success without taking exact hairline measurements from eyebrows. Which I doubt to many do.

Plus if you get it from amazon, if you suspect something is fishing you just file a complaint and get your money back.
