My hairline has recedeed about about 1 cm since I was 17 at the hairline. This has meant I can't style my hair the same as before and I have to cut it myself to stop so that I don't have that circular (and gappy) fringe that annoys me so much. I have mid length indie/alternative hair. I have recently purchased generic finasteride off the internet which I break into four pieces. My hairline would be noticable if my hair was of standard thickness. My remaining hair is really thick, which is why I am embarassed to got to the hairdresser, it looks like I'm covering it up, I also look terrible with my hair back, because of my hairs thickness it's almost wig like, which provokes the same response when my hair is scraped back. If I had short hair (which I don't suit as much) it doesn't look as far back for some reason even when exposed.

These are some pictures of me this far in, just need some advice regimen wise. Also would be helpful if I could be advised as to what I am Norwood wise.
I'll continue to take pictures as I continue my treatment. Then you can see how it goes.

This is me with my hair styled. Covering up my hairline

This is a photo of my hailine (hair pulled back)

Again

And again

since you have long hair use a good conditioner after the nizoral its makes the hair dry as hell (don need nizoral to all hair just the scalp use regular shampoor for the rest).
i use one containing youghurt and aloe and it makes the hair smooth again.

Jimothy, to me you are a Norwood 2.5, closer to Norwood 3 though. But I think you can still hide your hair line pretty good, in the first pic there are absolutly no signs of balding.

Since your problem is mainly temple recession i think that in your case minoxidil might be the better weapon to fight hair loss. It is said to work better on temples than Propecia. Of course, the best combination would be finasteride AND minoxidil supported by Nizoral. Good Luck!

holyhair, what exactly is a conditioner? I somehow know this term, but I am not familiar with its meaning. Thank you in advance!

its softener for your hair so its not dry and flat.
if you have long hair you need it or you kill your hair when combing it.

you find it next to your shampoo.
ive gone trough loads of shampoo and conditioners to find combinations that make my hair thicker ..the right combo does wonders.
at the moment i use a shampoo with olive oil and lemon and the conditioner as mentioned before.

swartzkopf and garnier makes the best stuff IMO.

Spray on conditioner its great also if you have light hair spray it in at the ens and it gives volume and stops it from being "flying" at smallest wind brushing you.

ive got similar hair to you, i used finasteride and nizoral for a year and...nothing happened,if you really want to fight the hairline recession then consider adding a topical.you might get lucky but id suggest some minoxidil as well.

jimothy how old are you currently? You don't feel that you are too young to start finasteride?

I'm 27 just now Icedt. I think that's old enough. If you start earlier the sides as regards libido are less likely, as you have more normal testosterone in your system. Rather than just converted DHT.
