I have sympathy for the guy, and indeed we should accept who we are, but I utterly refuse to sport a polished top...EVER.

I'll use 48 cans of minoxidil a year, take propecia, dutasteride, RU8851, exhaust my donor area with hair transplants, bury my scalp on Toppik, and if that weren't enough, wear a piece. (A good one, though!)

If I get desperate enough I might even consider chemical castration.

Dude, thats not a healthy attitude at all. By all means, try treatments, heck, get a hair transplant if you're a good candidate. But at a certain point, I think we need to accept ourselves for who we are. RU and dutasteride aren't approved by the fda for hair loss and we don't know of the long term health consequences.

watching that video was such a waste of time.

and to regards to the discussion going on above this.....i too would never give up fighting my hair loss. Especially in this day & age with all these treatments, hairloss is an only an option. I too will try every treatment, and ever resort to a hair transplant, rather than be slick bald.

I am trying to treat my condition as well. I don't think there is anything wrong with trying to keep your hair. I just think we have to know when enough is enough.

I thought the guy was hilarious. Although I thought he seemed contrasted - on the one hand, his attitude was good for a guy his age... he seemed to accept himself the way he was, on the other hand, he seemed to be giving up on supplementation and there is no way he could be knowledgeable enough to determine that none of it can help and it's just a waste of money, I mean, what was he like 16 years old?!?!

I kept waiting for some climatic finish, like him throwing the hat off and shaving his head or something, but no all we got his him babbling on about the same things over and over -- you're right, how depressing.

kid is obviously intelligent, but just plain wrong that meds don't work for the majority of people. that's why i love this forum, it really gave me the courage to actually try finasteride instead of just dismissing it as "pill popping" and bad for "sex drive".

this guy needs to do some research.

I agree with the guy, he does have a point, that we need to accept ourselves for who we are. If i was given the chance to have a full head of hair or a disease, the hair would be the first to go. As of today I'm done with finasteride, Doctor told me to drop it as it was giving me gyno. Its not worth it.

LOL at recent reply to that video by 'hoppimike' making his usual unproven claims. He's everywhere! :shakehead:

I stopped watching when he mentioned Mercola...

The thing is, I'd find the alternative theories a lot more convincing if the people who were promoting them weren't so obviously insane. Hoppi is clearly a complete lunatic.

ROFL this guy is hilarious. I checked out his other video in which he has taken his cap off. I was expecting him to have at least a diffuse NW3 under that cap, but no, he's got a NW1.5. I'd be happy looking like that, there's no loss at all.

I was kinda expecting Hoppi's youtube channel to have a bit more, well, you know, rainbow flags in it though
