Those of us on finasteride, can we still have children?

I have to say it is encouraging that, after everything you've put in your body...your "bits" still work haha. Makes me think, sh*t..if her junk still works after all shes been through...what could a little .5mg finasteride do to me?! hah

The thing is, it's so easy for a guy to get ED; even thinking about it can cause a guy to to lose form.

I suspect that the vast majority of cases where finasteride is blamed for brain fog, ED etc. is just my old friend Peter Paranoia coming to say hello. Physical sides like changes in ejaculate consistency, well that is a very different thing and should be checked.
changes in ejaculate consistency seem to be very common though, on the propecia information that i got with the prescription they even say changes in ejaculate consistency may occur and that this isnt something to be worried about. I've been on finasteride now for a little over a week and i believe me ejaculate is a bit more watery, just like many other people's who have taken finasteride...do you think thats something to be concerned about?

Actually you're right it is quite common, I don't think it's a major problem.

Like all meds though, I don't advise taking anything without medical supervision and regular tests. It bothers me that so many on-line clinics just give away prescriptions like they are Hershey's Kisses.

That being said, the vast majority of finasteride users will have no problems with the drug whatsoever so statistically you'll be fine. My only real concern is that the most common side effect seems to be the one that turns people into an unpleasant forum troll :)

He's a Canadian hockey player, but I'm not aware that there any evidence that the premature birth of his son had anything to do with Finasteride. Both children were born with respiratory problems, but his daughter is fine now.

Yes, but it rains in Canada too, does that mean that if it rains where you live you can't have children?

Correlation does not imply causation, but using the same logic you could argue that if someone has a premature birth while it's raining, then the rain was the cause.

There are any number of reasons for complications in pregnancy and nothing I have read (outside of hair loss forums) indicates that the problems with the baby were caused by the finasteride.

So, do you have any proof to backup your statement or are you just copying and pasting something you read on another forum?

WOW, didn't know that cases:
Another famous example: John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox from Scrubs) takes Finasteride for years and his child has down syndrom too.

McGinley got his wife pregnant in 1996 and Finasteride was approved for hairloss in 1997.I dont think finasteride is potent enouh to cause chromosomal disorders. If the stuff was really that powerful, all bald headed men on finasteride would have grown all their hair back and their hair would have become immune to baldness too.

Proscar was on the market many years before Finasteride for hairloss was released. Also, John C. McGinleys hair hasn't changed even many years before 1996.

This doesn't make sense at all.

However, I'm not saying that it was caused by Finasteride. I just thought it's weirdly conicidence that both take propecia.
