I went to a specialist today who told me I had the beginning of what looks like balding on the crown. He said it was very very early however it can be monitored and not 100% fixed but improved with laser hair treatment at advanced hair. Has anybody done this? Will I be ripped off ? I'm curious I haven't paid for it yet and I my hair is thick other than the thinning of my crown.

Your crown doesn't bad. How old are you?

Is this specialist in Canberra?

In general this community is skeptical of all laser therapies. Among the problems are the lack of any scientific mechanism, the fact all studies are funded by industry, and the absence of independent reports of progress.

You can get the same therapy for free, just got out and enjoy some sun daily if possible.

It seems like another way for them to take money from gullible, desperate people who read fake reviews that are written by the companies that are selling it. I mean what would lasers do besides heat up your head? That won't regrow hair.

It's at the very beginning of thinning. RIGHT NOW - STOP listening to these SCAM artists. Laser therapy is one of the BIGGEST SCAMS in the hair loss industry, along with PRP, and all the snake oils people are selling on the internet. HERE is a list of things people "trust" (as in have ANY evidence behind them -

1) finasteride and dutasteride
2) minoxidil
3) ketoconazol shampoo and coal tar shampoo (mostly for controlling dermatitis)
4) RU58841 - experimental treatment, not approved by the FDA for hair loss.

Advanced hair studio one of the biggest scam artists in the industry. Ignore everything they say and at the next appointment tell them to go suck a fat one.

How about:

1. Topical Spironolactone
2. Azelaic Acid
3. Alfatradiol
4. Flutamide
5. Fluridil
6. Eucapil
7. Cyproterone
8. Topical Melatonin
9. Trichosaccharides (Foltene)

Whats your thoughts on these products. I google searched a lot of pages to sum up various treatments related to hair loss and male pattern baldness.

If you have low body fat percentage, you're very masculine, etc. I recommend finasteride. For that you will need a prescription. The most you need is 1 mg/day. If he gives you 5mg/day, buy a pill cutter.

It might be worth it for you to get a hormone profile done before starting finasteride, which includes the standard sex hormones, DHT, estradiol, maybe the thyroid hormones for kicks, etc.

Go to a local pharmacy and buy 1% nizoral, it might give you a ~10% slowdown in hair loss, but overall the evidence for nizoral is weak.

If you want minoxidil, I recommend ordering it by mail, because Rogaine foam for example ~3x more expensive in Australia than it is in the USA.

Hop on the pills dude...period.
Stop wasting time.
Next thing you know, your crown will be SLICK bald...it'll glimmer when the sun hits it. People will be able to see their future if they stare at it....& you're only 23? Jesus Christ, that means you'll get 0 amounts of *** from women. ZERO

Book an appointment with an MD, a good one, and discuss a prescription for finasteride.
