the baby boomer generation wasn't about shaving, rather having long hair styles. Think woodstock, 80's, 70's ... bald wasn't hip back then and as accepted as it is today.

I've always heard that a good bit more of the population died at birth so it lowered total life expectancy rates, not that they couldn't live longer than 30.
