Time to start dutasteride?

I am new here guys and would really appreciate some guidance.

I have been on finasteride for about a year and a half. I was on Propecia for the first year, and then I switched to quartered Proscar. Both are from either Costco or Walmart. I’m in month 4 of Proscar, and I am aggressively losing hair all over. The scalp showing is now MUCH more noticable. Before these last few months I could tell I was still losing, but it was slowed and not too worrisome and I wasn’t too preoccupied with it.

I’m wondering if anyone has encountered this when switching from Propecia to Proscar, and what this means after a year-plus on finasteride: Give up, assume finasteride is not working and get a dutasteride script pronto? Get back on Propecia? This is just a shed to push through? I also have noticed a few sides, but only since starting the Proscar these last few months...is dutasteride a different animal or is it just stronger finasteride??

Thanks for any help/suggestions. This is really frustrating!!

Try with half Proscar/day before switching Dutasteride...

Take first one 0,5mg dutasteride all 4Days to proscar
3Days proscar than 0,5Dut and so on

so make it more Men with good Results

Wait, will increasing the Proscar dose to half a day do anything, besides increase % risk of more sides? All i read on here is consistently that 1mg and 2mg of finasteride do the same ...

I am tempted to add some new shampoo to the mix, in addition to the nizoral 1%. Maybe try Alpecin or another one with some decent stop-the-shedding reputations...any recs?

0,1mg dutasteride is very good
and the side effect not so high as with 0,5mg and more

Thanks, Timi. That chart shows dutasteride as champion without doubt.

Adding 0.5mg dutasteride one day after 4 days Proscar sounds like a reasonable approach. Can I expect a colossal shed like all dutasteride starters get with this little amount?

Do you recommend I add more than that? Do you still recommend it after turning backto finasteride?

The shedding risk ist with this Dose very small

you can split the Cap and put in into a empty Cap
and take Dayli 0,1mg
is also a possibility

How long were you on finasteride before switching to dutasteride (propecia or proscar?, and How much dutasteride did you take weekly?

How long on dutasteride before you thought it was doing no good and better switch backto finasteride? Any things to watch for in the switch?

Would you make the addition of dutasteride immediately, or should I ride out this tremendous hair loss, hope it's a shed, and continue the 1.25mg proscar to year 2, and add a new shampoo like Alpecin? Then add dutasteride in 6months if i'm still getting killed...? So confusing...
