Why should I regret shaving it? I mean it will grow back in a few days. And I can finally see how I will look like when I am totally bald. Sooner or later I will have to do this step. So, maybe I can accept my baldness better when I can see that it doesn´t look that bad. I won´t be stressed about the hair I am shedding (can´t see it), shampooing is easy and I will sweat less. It is just something new.

stop talking and shave your head already. look like that neonazi. :hairy:

I dont mean to piss on your bonfire but unless you shave it right down to the bone in the shower with water, gel, and a mach 3 blade and razor (like you would shave your face), you will still have no idea how you will look bald. There is a WORLD of difference between a buzzed head and a head shaved down to the bone with a blade, trust me, ive been doing it for years, moving gradually down in stages. On top of that, there is also a huge difference between shaving your head to the bone when you still have hair on top, and shaving it to the bone when you dont have hair on top-the difference is that when you have hair on top, your face is still framed by the dark shadow, and the horseshoe is not as visible. I am all for shaving ones head when one is losing hair, and I think its a good idea to try it, but if you only shave it with clippers, then what you will see is a far cry from what you will see the day you shave it with gel and water and a razor blade to properly 'bald'...and when that day comes (if it does), if you have based how you will look bald on how your hair looks only buzzed, then youll be in for a bit more of a surprise than you might think....

im also in a quarry whether to shave my head or not, if i buzz it down to 2 it becomes obvious im thinning on top, if i let it grow its not that bad but still its getting worse by the day with the temples getting thinner and thinner and a bald spot developing slowly

if i buzz it to 1 its much better and it feels like ive been liberated, not worrying about my hair, obviously i dont look as good but what the hell!

im looking for a clip which will buzz it very very short but not as short as if i use a razor, any ideas what size clip does that

If you didn't give a crap, you would probably buzz it or shave it already. You will not like your hair all buzzed away.

re:

Shaving or buzzing your hair is ridiculously common today, so please stop with the whole "nazi" theme. My male pattern baldness is far more visible when my hair is a few inches long as opposed to 6 mm long.
I suppose these sort of discussions are valuable, but in the end the individual has to stop asking for outside input and make a decision that is best for them. Currently my hair is long, but I will be shaving it again soon because I have found that I worry more about my hair when it is longer. When it is buzzed down to a whiffle, I don't have to worry about wind, rain or a hat throwing my hair out of place, it is very comforting. However, when I buzz my hair down another notch (to 3mm) things look like crap and i feel like crap at times.
My point, each individual must decide for themselves what is best and it helps to try a few different looks to evaluate not only what looks best, but what look you are most comfortable with. There is nothing wrong with buzzing or shaving it as these are totally acceptable looks for any aspect of western society. In fact many women prefer men with really short hair as that look is considered very "clean".

put some sunnless tanning on the thin areas to reduce the contrast. But get a good one that does not stink.
