Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster. 23 years old here. Also, excuse me as English wasn't my first language.

Bout the rug. Man, what was I thinking. To be honest, it looked great, and I'm 100% sure nobody knew (I was like NW2 at most when I put it on and using concealers and crafty haircuts).

But it doesn't matter how it looked. I would meet girls and make friends, but the relationships didn't mean sh*t to me since they were based on a lie. It was a horrible existence.

Seriously, anyone considering hair replacement sh*t, no matter how good it looks, you won't be happy, unless you're able to pull off being in denial.

Oh yeah, anyways, my question....
after I took the damn thing off, my hairloss flew off the chain, like I progressed sooo quickly in 7 months of wearing, worst decision of my life

the thing is, a lot of the hair is still there under it..IT JUST WON'T GROW. it's been super super short for a month now, and stays the same length. anyone familiar with what's going on here.

oh yeah, also I got on propecia and minoxidil and nizoral ALL within the past 3 days (propecia and minoxidil today, well fincar, the indian stuff, but whatever).

i'm determined to do everything I can to win this fight. do you think the rug made the hair under it not be able to grow (i had it superglued on there 24/7), it's kind of annoying, because it's not bald, yet it won't grow, and I want to grow it...

what's going on here?

I'm not an expert, but I don't think that your hair has suffered any permanent damage from the rug. Maybe it just needs a couple of months to get back on track again, after being covered for so long.

Excellent decision by the way. I've never heard anyone regret it.

Good choice, the thought of a rug makes my legs shake in depression.

How long has the rug been off for? My best guess is you have some clogged pores and the hair just can't grow just now. It may need just a little time to get back in shape. I highly suggest getting some salicylic acid shampoo so it will clear off some of the residue and dead skin your scalp is no doubt dealing with from the adhesive. I would probably lather on some of it every other day for a few weeks to jump start the effectiveness of the shampoo. Give it at least 5 minutes to soak in and do it's job.

In the USA you can find it in T/SAL shampoo

Over seas it is called T/GEL.

I doubt there is any permanent damage to your scalp.

EDIT: By the way, Tricomin (Copper-Peptides) is known to speed up hair growth and it will help repair some of the damage done to the scalp.

I agree 100%, it's the exact same thing. No matter how people will deny it, your covering up your head with something artificial. I did this for a long time, I was miserable, it was so depressing. I am so happy now that I quit relying on that horrible security blanket for my social life.

Sure sometimes I still wear one, about as much as any normal guy, but not like before when it was my "Young guy toupee."

Anyone out there still doing this, do yourself a favor and quit living your social life under one. It's like smoking, its best to never start and once you do it is almost impossible to stop. You see some guys in their 40's and older still living under one, how depressing.

Yes, but the oh so mild look you get from someone noticing your hat is nothing compared to obsessive glances at the top of your head (along with that "look". You know the one.)

I hid my hairloss under my hat for years. I didnt want to leave the house without it on. But places like work and some clubs dont allow hats, so eventually i was able to take it off and not rely on it so much. i wear it now , but i dont rely on it like i once did.

Seriously i was wearing hats all the time before hairloss hit me and now more than ever because of the looks i get from people.People sometimes stare especiallly girls my age checking out my hairline giving me a look like "that sux".And then i look at them back trying to seem confident but inside im like "fu*k"..I agree hats are like toupees.
