You're claiming to get systemic side effects from topical spironolactone?? If that's true, you must be a really unusual individual; in one previous study, test subjects were practically covered with spironolactone (fully HALF their total body surface area), and yet they had no systemic effects from it!!

The one problem with spironolactone is the evidence on it working its kind of sketchy from what I have seen. You would think 20 years after finasteride we have 1 good proven topical by now maybe even FDA approved.

Right now there is no one definitive DHT blocker. There are tons of them and its just opinion and guesswork which ones might actually work and to what extent. You have rogain and propecia. Anything else is just another expensive thing you could try that might help according to some person or some small non definitive maybe biased study.
Honestly I wish we had something like CB or RU but formulated as a safe internal treatment. Trying to use topical spironolactone has shown me how big a pain using a topical really is. You have to see your hair loss every single day and spend about 20 minutes actually using it and your hair looks greasy and much worse the whole time. Not very fun but safer.

Studies usually don't cover everything, you know. That's the reason pharmaceutical companies includes information about post marketing experience after a while. All topical drugs may cause systemic side effects. It depends on the dose, and more importantly - the individual's tolerance.
