Topical Spironolactone since February. What the hell?

I've been using topical spironolactone since February, and I honestly don't know what to think. I've used it twice a day, first after my morning shower(wet scalp absorbs better, or so I heard) and before going to bed. At first it was alright, but a month or so later, I noticed something weird: The areas of my scalp where I applied the cream were yellow.
Yes, my goddamn skin was turning yellow, and Google has no answers for this. Am I the only one who has that side effect?
Oh, and by the way, my hair is falling as much(if not more) as always. It's really depressing being 19 ****ing years old and losing so much hair.
So, any opinions? Experiences? I am no longer using that cream.

This is pretty odd as you have developed *oral* Spironolactone side effect, but in a limited area! Are you doing dermarolling?
I suggest using Ketoconazole %2 shampoo (Nizoral, etc) instead. it has very fewer (near nothing) side effects & it work against losing hair, in real. Also using it in evening before going to bed has the best result.

I didn't have this for 6 months and now I'm on my 2nd batch of spironolactone there's some colour, it looks more like fake tan on me. It went away after ~3 days of no use when I was on holiday. I dunno if its the s5, or a combination of applying s5 on top of minoxidil? Don't really know what to think either. This 2nd batch also smells a bit different too, like vinegar. We need some S5 experts in here!

It's the 4th can I use, and I kept the 3 I used previously. Today I opened them and two of them still had some cream. Guess what? It was yellow. The cream went from white to mustard yellow. What the hell have I used on my hair?

Well it has a use-by date...

I'm just mildly concerned by the change between my first and second batch, both in terms of the smell and the fact it's caused this (temporary) skin colouration. Initially I thought it was tanning, based on some discussion about S5 cream and sunlight since the colour is certainly not yellow. It's an orange colour like fake tan.

Im pretty sure John Boehner uses the s5 cream.

In your case stop applying spironolactone right after the shower on somewhat wet skin. I bet that's why you developed side effect. I don't think you are losing more hair because of spironolactone.

I've been using it for a month with no obvious sides. Honestly, I think it was a waste of money. $35-$40 for some cream that doesn't last long and doesn't seem to do anything.

Not sure on that, but I used it for a while. I Just quit because its a pain and it didnt seem to be do much of anything other than make my hair look greasy and more thin than normal. I question its absorption and whether its strong enough to actually do anything.

So I've been experimenting a bit with my topicals (minoxidil, spironolactone, revivogen) and I'm now sure that it's the S5 spironolactone causing the colour. I've had areas with minoxidil+spironolactone, minoxidil alone and spironolactone alone. The areas I used spironolactone on continued to turn a oompa loompa shade of orange, maybe with a little yellowy-green mixed in. The most intense area was the one with spironolactone applied exclusively, perhaps it absorbed better without applying it on top of minoxidil. This only started about 5 months into my S5 usage, when I finished my first batch of day+night cream and started my second. The second batch had a vinegar scent to it, but other than that things seemed the same. Perhaps the colourisation started at roughly the same time too, looking back at progress photos it begins to creep in around March.

I don't think this has anything to do with sunlight exposure etc. I always hold off with applying my topicals on a day I'm outside much, untill after I'm back indoors. I've been away twice without the topicals since this started happening and in both cases the colour faded away after 2-3 days. It isn't something that washes off, but rather fades slowly. I'm not sure if this is something to do with my current batch of spironolactone or just an effect that took several months to build up for me, perhaps my first spironolactone batch was actually less effective? Who knows. I'm going to PM the admin here and see if he can shed any light on things since I have been buying my S5 from gourmetstylewellness.com. I'll be stopping spironolactone for the meantime anyway, which is a bit of a shame because it makes my regimen feel incomplete :( I guess things like fluridil and RU would be options, but considering starting finasteride was quite a big leap for me - RU seems like a bridge too far at the moment.

I took a couple of pictures to try and show what it looks like, but this is 2 days since my last spironolactone use so it has faded considerably, I'm busy at the moment and frankly cba going out looking like an oompa loompa for the sake of posting better pics on here. I have been applying the spironolactone along the hairline, all the way down to the temple point and sideburn area, as I've been experiencing hairloss around the ears. I added lines on the 2nd picture to try and point out where to look.
