Tracking hair loss (on DHT blocker) while shaving

I've started rapidly losing my hair in my late 30s, basically all on the crown. By the time I noticed a significant amount has gone. I've just started oral dutasteride 3x weekly. But, for now, I don't want to keep my hair when I have a huge bald patch on the crown. I'm going to shave it.

But I'm wondering, how can I objectively track that my hair loss has stabilized or is improving while completely shaving my head?

My goal with oral dutasteride is to stabilize the hair loss and give myself more options later on. I want to see first that the hair loss isn't continuing, the oral dutasteride is effective for me, and that this DHT blocking regimen is sustainable before considering any kind of hair transplant.

More accessible and affordable where I live. I was offered/prescribed both and told I could choose either.
