Only the thickest densest hair looks good when wet or spiked up. The sad truth is if you have hairloss its not going to be like it was in your youth ever again.(sorry) :(

i disagree.... it willl look like your teenage hair again wet and spiked if you get the right number of grafts from Armani, and if you have a great survival rate....
i understand that your donor will be slightly thinner.... but again people this all depends on your LEVEL OF LOSS.....
and i understand the possibility of lossing more hair down the line ... but i am just saying that for a certain time period you can have that teenage hair again depending on the success of the surgery, money, donor, characteristics, and limited loss

that is what I was going to say. Topik will fill in the diffuse part. As long as your hair looks gelled, no woman will touch it and find the topik. Dermatch is good too, but would be a pain to apply to thick hair.

Just wait for HM. I was impatient, but now that I have dermmatch, I could easily wait 5 years. My main concern now is not having a low hair line. Dermmatch does not help with that. 1000 grafts is tempting now. But if you already plan to wait a year, then at least look at the HM results.

CCS,

Why do you keep pushing HM when there is NOTHING out there on it that is concrete? It is not coming out anytime soon. It is nothing more than urban legend that was publicized on these forums at this point. You are selling false hope at this time.

Urban legend? That is a little extreme, especially when almost all hair transplant doctors predict that it will become a reality within 10-20 years and it is currently being performed on humans in trials. I think ccs is overly optimist thinking it is right around the corner and i certainly wouldn't develope a restoration plan that relies on it yet, but to call it false hope and an urban legend is rediculous.

I never understand why some doctors like Armani are better then others. If the grafts are the same, are not multiplied why you say

"if you get the right number of grafts from Armani" and not
"if you get the right number of grafts from Gotti (or whatever)"?

90% of hair transplant Dr's are not that good. About 40% are f*****g terrible the others are average and there are only about 10 or so in the world who produce great results.
Thats just my opinion.

that 10% might even by high...Really, there is only a handful that are capable of producing GREAT results.

Let me say that I see more pics than you would ever imagine and why my hard drives don't last that long, crashes, etc.

These are not the "best pics" on some docs web page either. These are guys just like you from all over the world who ask my opinion on their final result. And many include their before pics, and even some surgery pics, day after pics, you know what I mean.

I know of approximately 40 hair transplant doctors world-wide that I would have no problems getting in the chair with. Their work is that good and so are their ethics.

The whole problem is that some clinics/doctors are very very good at getting their patients to release their photos, most are terrible at it. That's why only certain clinics are always the ones putting up pics. These docs do some awesome work no doubt, BUT there are endless patients with awesome work that we never or rarely see.

Believe me, if I truly felt there were only a handful who do excellent work, I would say it, but it's anything but the truth. And that's also why I feel that the industry as a whole has progressed ten-fold over the past fifteen years or so.

But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :hairy:

Gillenator,

Certainly you must understand though that most people would rather go to a doctor who has many photos up and many patients available to meet with you to show you with their results, rather than go with someone who doesn't have any photos or patients to meet with but someone else says is a good guy.

well really im just going by the iahrs website...you obviously know much more than i do about hair transplantation.

only 19 states have reputable surgeons and there is a total of 40 surgeons who are recommended in the united states out of thousands who peform these surgeries...to me thats only a handful.

And out of that group of 40 im sure there is a top 10 or so who are elite.

HTGT,

See how you are already beginning to stream things down to the ones you want to research? Keep going.

Jayman,

Yes you're right. And that's why these clinics with more pics and references get more new patients than anyone else. It's a very important part of the decision process. Do world class work, get your work in front of new patients, and you'll do fine. It's an easy in principle, but again many very talented docs don't do it.

huh...im not researching anything...im going by that website...which has been recommend by Spencer kobren upteen times.

if only 40 are recommened on that site out of thousands...you wouldnt say thats a handful?

Lastly...do you honestly believe that since these 40 are recommended they are all equal...surely some are better than others.

Where do you get the idea that there are "thousands" of hair transplant surgeons out there because that's absurd. Everyone has their own opinions too. You're reading into things too much.
