Hey People!

Had a 1500 graft hair transplant last monday at DHI Global on my temples (not strip, the other way) and was wondering how long before these scabs will go and just leave hair growing through?

I've been told that tomorrow (friday) i can wash my hair with baby shampoo... did anyone else have to squirt saline soloution every half hour over them to keep them moist for 3 days?

Kansta, the scabs will probably crust off about when the transplanted hair will be falling out. Your hair will start growing back in 3-5 months, but will be thin. The hair will gradually get thicker. IN about 10 months it will be looking good, could be a year or more before optimum results are shown.

I'm 3 months in with no or very few new hairs grown in yet.

patients is the hardest part of getting a hair transplant. i'm almost 3 months post op with minimal hair growth. but, there is some. hopefully by christmas they'll all be sprouting. hang in there man.

people think it is faster than meds, but it takes time. It is almost guaranteed to give results, though.

THe saline helps slough off the scabs and keeps the recipient region moist and most importantly clean. I used the biotin spray on the hour the first 3 days post op the for the remaining 11 days. It's MD formulated with type 1 DHT inhibitors. It helped speed up the healing process.

The last of the scabs was at the end of the 2nd week for me. I wasnt aggressive as I should have been but all is good now approaching my third month post op on the 24th.

anyone in the UK considering transplants, would be best to shop around first, DHI is a greek company that does their work in athens, i dont know many people who have reccomended them. Ive seen their show piece cases and they look good, but the best surgeon in UK in my opinion is Dr Rogers. I thought about DHI, but decided against it based on Dr Rogers frank and honest approach. I didnt like the idea of going to a foreign country where i did not know the medical practises to have something like that done. DHI did not know about finasteride at the time i saw them (a few years ago) and i thought that was strange for a company based on dealing with hairloss.

well i didnt go to Athens? I went to Harley Street in London! They also have a hospital in Preston.

My results are looking great, been a week and 2 days and i got a full hairline growing, none have fallen out so far and no more scabs!

So let me get this straight, there's no scar at the back of your head? Do you have to use something to maintain the hairs around the transplant (i.e. finasteride)? What's life like after this? Anybody a year post DHI op yet?
