So are skipping Minoxidil for a week as well? I think I may do this for a week just to give my scalp a breather. It's going to feel weird not dousing my scalp in Minoxidil.

yes I decided to skip the week from minoxidil as well. Pretty damn nice to give my scalp a break and not have to mess with that stuff every night. I switched to once per day minoxidil applications during the summer. I don't see any negative effects as of yet. I really like the folligen (tin peptides) so far.

Whats the best time to use Folligen? I usually take my morning shower than dry my hair, apply my Xandrox, wait 15 minutes and then spray with Folligen.

I would rather use the folli at night as it is so thick and sticky but the bottle says to apply right after showering- is that really necessary?

Dr. Packard also recommended giving the treatments a rest for a week during the last week of the month. Somehow giving the follicles a rest should make them react better, so I am trying that also.

He said what? If you're using Folligen - to NOT use it the last week of the month? C'mon back.

Thats correct. Its written in the literature that came with the folligen for blondes. I emailed him about this asking him why.. heres his response.

You don't have to take a break but many products work better if the
follicles are without them for a time.

Thanks - I can't wait to skip a week of topicals!! :)

This is from the article thin=depressed linked to in a recent post: http://www.skinbiology.com/hairregrowth.html

"Tricomin produces slightly more hair growth than minoxidil and produces thicker hair shafts than minoxidil. Unfortunately, the solution into which Tricomin has been recently formulated gives evidence of inhibiting hair growth. Users often report scalp irritation, itching and flaking. Tricomin Solution contains high levels of ethyl alcohol, detergent and also contains blue dye, all of which may irritate the scalp. This may reduce its overall hair growth effects."

I use Tricomin now, but I don't know which is better, Tricomin or Folligen. I was thinking of buying Folligen and trying to alternate days I use them. IE. Minoxidil & Tricomin one day, and then Minoxidil & Folligen the next.

Redbone, great to see you here again my man. Your avatar says you are in Abilene Beach, made me jealous that you were probably hanging out on Calle Ocho, you hound!

I've tried Am Crew and Folligen. I thought that Am Crew might be helping, but after using Folligen I realized what a real copper peptide spray FEEEEELS like after you spray it on. Compared to Folligen, Am Crew felt like I was spraying perfume water onto my hair. Not only that, but Am Crew features denatured alcohol as its base ingredient. Folligen uses purified water, and still manages to give me that healthy tingle like Am Crew never did.

I don't know which is best for the hair, but I can only comment on which seemed to be penetrating better. I have not used Tricomin, perhaps I should try it, but I do enjoy my Folligen squirt. I do notice the tackiness that Folligen has, and the fact that the sh*t smells like vegetable broth. Back when I tried Xandrox 15, the combo of the 15 and Folligen left serious residue in my hair that was difficult to wash off.

I kinda had to laugh when I read this. We all know that Dr. Pickart (sp?) had a 'falling-out' of sorts with the Procyte corporation. All he is really saying here is, " Hey, don't buy Tricomin buy my products!". :D

The thing is that the specific peptide complex (alanine/histidine/lysine polypeptide copper hcl) that was specifically designed and that has been shown to work is found within tricomin and the american crew version. Dr. Pickart's folligen is a whole mix of peptides that he has thrown together and not specifically designed for. I don't think Pickart is even legally allowed to use the specific complex mentioned above because it is patented by the Procyte corporation. Many of the peptides found within folligen may be largely ineffective. They might be too large to even penetrate the scalp or might be totally ineffective (hence the left-over residue found on the scalp). The complex that is found within tricomin or american crew has been shown to work through a double-blind-placebo controlled test. It was designed and shown to be capable of penetrating the scalp and effectively addresses the needs at the follicle. Where is Pickart's proof that any of these other complexes really work?? I would take that statement with a grain of salt!

Pickart is also comparing the effectiveness of tricomin to 2% minoxidil and not the 5% version. We all know there is a difference there.

AASN:
There is no reason to worry about the alcohol found within the products.

Redbone has been quite successful in Abilene beach with his special videos on the internet. he has a knack for convincing ladies to do inhibiting things on film. he is definetely a 'hunter' for attention.

I am about to add tricomin and/or folligen to my nuclear regimen. Is there any problem with using both?

No.

People use minoxidil twice a day so why not CP's.

If I was you I would definitely use Tricomin/AC in the morning and Folligen before your retire for the evening.

I can't comment on the efficacy of either but I have always found Tricomin/AC to be more acceptable to wear out than folligen, due to its conditioning effect it has on the hair.

Its old news that folligen leaves your hair looking sh*t.

awesome. I think I may add some emu oil in there too. My scalp is pretty gross and it may be why my regimen won't work.

Also, can anyone recommend a hardcore anti-depressant that can be taken with dutasteride? I am insane.
