Turns out I'm not ready to lose my hair

I always hated the idea of taking meds and having potential side effects - but my thinning and receding is getting to me. I'm going to the dr soon - what do I ask for? What kind? Then I see people cutting the pills in quarters - what's a good amount to take so you can see the results and minimize the chances of sides? I'm 23 with a girlfriend, and we are planning to have kids in the future. Will I have any issues if I want to have kids in a few years? I assume I would have to stop taking it at that time..

Also, is it possible for hair regrowth and everything without minoxidil? I can deal with some minor sides, but applying minoxidil every day might be trouble. How bad is the shed on finasteride? Would I need to shave my head to hide it? Thanks! Any help is appreciated.

you don't want apply minoxidil ?!
there is not a lot of meds against hair loss and you are too lazy to take one of them ?

Doesn't it have to be applied 2x a day? What if I miss a few days, will I lose it? Would regrowth and thickening improve if I use minoxidil and finasteride? I'd like it if I could use one and have it work, but I guess it helps if you use both?

You shouldn't have any trouble having kids while on Finasteride, but your wife should NOT come in contact with the medication. The she from finasteride varies person to person, and I don't think you'll have to shave your head. I recommended you start off at .5 mg everyday for the first month or so, and then move onto 1 mg everyday. Despite what you've read on the internet MOST people don't suffer serious side effects!

Would you recommend the minoxidil with it, or could finasteride work without it?

How greasy is it? I'm guessing you need to use it 2x a day?
