Hi I’ve suffered diffuse thinning since I was 22 now recently turned 30 ,used rogaine for a year but didn’t think much of it , I don’t suit a buzzed head etc as I am quite thin and don’t have the face shape plus can’t grow proper facial hair ,
So after not seeing results on min I used the concealer approach, Toppik , nanogen etc , but after snooping on this forum for years deceided to start finasteride two months ago along with min 2% as the stronger strength doesn’t agree with me , I use nizoral shampoo twice a week and Alpecin twice a week also , I have pretty oily hair so need to wash it every other day ,my hair line is fine it’s the crown I’m trying to thicken up as hair concealer isn’t practical I get parnoid if it rains etc , or people touching my hair ,haven’t tried dermatch does anyone know if it’s better than fibres ?
Anyways being on finasteride two months I think I might have slight regrowth?
Though it’s quite fine hairs , any other diffuse thinners on here that’s had good results ? Know I won’t get a thick head of hair again but my goal is to thicken up the crown area so I don’t have to use concealer I attached pics from two months ago and one from today my goal is for these hairs to eventually thicken thanks for reading advice appreciated

Anyone with any knowledge know if it’s to late for me to be on finasteride?
As I said my goal is for the hairs in my crown area to eventually thicken up so I don’t have to use concealer and hats ...
Btw no sides with finasteride so far sex drive etc is pretty high

What was your issue with Min? Did you ever try Rogaine Foam because I had a very bad reaction to Liquid Rogaine but Foam doesn't seem to bother me. Honestly, it's hard to see you getting much growth on your crown without 5% Rogain Foam at least 1x per day. I think it's unrealistic for you to gain all your crown back, you may get some back. Also, I would stay away from concealers. I really think it's close to impossible to completely hide it. Even worse, you will grow used to it and continue to require more of it to match the initial effect of your hair keeps thinning. Finally, I have to think it's not ideal for new growth from your treatments.

I used 5% liquid in the past but never tried the foam , would it be worth a try ? my hairloss is weird as my hairline is ok etc but real bad diffuse on the crown , and I’ve been using concealer for a few years so In that trap unfortunately :/ I was gonna see how the meds go if they don’t work I guess a transplant or hairpiece is my only options though I live in the U.K.
And transplants are so expensive here even hair systems are so expensive , and I’ve a birthmark on my scalp that’s quite big along with the fact I don’t pull of a shaved head :/ any advice would be helpful tho

Yes, I do think your experience could be quite different using foam. My situation was so extreme that I had to quit the liquid after 2 months and it took nearly 6 months for my scalp to normalize. It wasnt until years later that foam came out and then a few more for me to actually try it. Id give the foam a shot. Also, I have a mark on the side of my scalp too but you can have birth marks removed nowadays. Hopefully you can just make due with your treatments..
