Unsure about regrowth

I'm 22, I just got finastride ($24 for a YEARS SUPPLY at Wal-Mart). Exactly what is going to start growing back on me?

I'm maybe 10% thinned on the front, behind the hairline and that's all I can notice. It's very early. No one can tell, even when I show them. The dermatologist was the only one who can tell. It's noticeable to me when my hair is short though. It's medium length now but I want to cut it. Am I going to see any thickening, not on the actual hairline, but a half inch back or so? That's where it seems to be the thinnest.

People always say "a few months" until you see results. What exactly does that mean? Is it a few months until you can actually see the lost hairs or "a few months" until it matches up to your current hair style. Once they all started budding back, I'd just buzz my head and let everyone grow out together. Like a family!
