I have slight temporal recession only on the left, on the right my hairline is extremely strong and still looks very juvenile. I have noticed the recession about 5 months ago and have reason to believe it could be that I have tellogen effluvium, because about 7 months ago I was under extreme stress and had a case of minor PTSD for 2 weeks. I have other reasons to believe I have tellogen effluvium because I have been shedding in other areas of my body.

I saw a derm about a month ago and she told me to wait a few more months to see if it continues and she could prescribe me propecia. She told me she had no idea whether it was male pattern baldness or tellogen effluvium. Thinking about seeing another derm soon...

Just want to add I am 24, asian and my family has zero history of male pattern baldness. I did post in the other section but didn't realize it didn't get much traffic...sorry.

What do you guys think? Pics attached.

Norwood -1. My gosh. Let me read your post now, that was my assessment before reading.

There does seem to be some weird thinness in the very front of the hairline but I don't really think its male pattern baldness.

Do you mean the front middle or the entire hairline? I've carefully taken pictures over the 5 months and can say only the left has changed. Although nothing drastic to clearly define it as male pattern baldness like you said...Still unsure myself. The derm I saw seemed to want to just rush me out the door once she saw me.

I mean, you have mayabe lost 11 hairs tops. Was it normal healthy shedding related? Or male pattern baldness? Or just your natural adult hair line? Who knows. Time will tell.

Would you recommend any treatment right now before finasteride of course (left temple)? Like minoxidil or s5 topical cream? Thanks Dark Link your opinion has put me at ease, been stressed lately.

Pretty severe hair loss, might be one of the worst cases on this forum.
