Hello guys, it's been a while. Today is my 24th birthday so I decided to post an update. I got a haircut 2 days ago, real short this time, I'm not very fond but that's what the barber said suited me best haha so what a better time to take some pictures.

Anyways, I haven't noticed much change in my hair since I started treatment. It's almost 18 months since I started finasteride, and I stopped with the minoxidil a couple months ago but noticed my hairline getting a bit worse on the left side so I decided to start again this last month. I also use a finasteride shampoo since february, which is quite good: polaris n11 shampoo.

My main issue are my thinning temples, and miniaturized hair around the hairline. The crown is thinning too, but it's not that bad, since I also have double cowlick. I'd love to have thicker hair, so the scalp is not that visible.

Hope you guys can give me some advice to what else I can do to improve my situation. I'm well aware it's not that bad, and I'm maintaining what I have, but I don't want it to get worse. I'm almost sure these treatments saved my life, because I see pictures of me 2-3 years ago and I'm even slightly better now, so I encourage anyone who's also noticing changes in their hair to act now. Best of luck.

Sorry for my english, and thanks!

Man I'm starting to realize that at least half of the posters here have BDD (myself included)

The only thing that looks "sketchy" in your pictures is your crown; but again you have a harsh flash which is probably making it look A LOT worse than it is.

Hairline looks great but your crown not so much. Stay on finasteride and drop the minoxidil you dont need it, especially at the hairline.

I agree with this assessment.
@davesmith420 besides you, which BDD person do you think has the best hair on here?

Man, I'm starting to think I may have BDD... the lightning is harsh yes, but I'm 100% sure I'm thinning, slowly, but surely. (More scalp visible around the temples)

Anyways, any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey man, I think you're diffuse thinning as well, seems like you're lacking some density throughout the top of your scalp, more noticeable on the crown but I can see it in the front as well. can you show us some pre treatment pics, if finasteride is holding you where you're at then I wouldn't even worry. No one would bat an eye at your hairloss.

Can you point out which pictures he posted that shows this? I'm not seeing it

Actually now that I looked it's very clear that his hair now has actually made a comeback, look at his 2ndpost where he posted pics a year ago, obvious recession and thinning on hairline, finasteride saved him

Yeah it looks like his left side (right to us) thickened up a lot. I don't think he is really diffusing IMO.

He definitely was, 3rd pic on his 1 year old post shows major lack of density. Now I'd say he's pretty much recovered and has nothing to worry about, but he WAS diffuse thinning in the past

This is something going on. But I don't know if it's androgen alopecia.

Kind of looks like traction alopecia to me, because it's on the one side.

Traction is caused by a tight hairstyle (man bun, dread locks, cornrows, even a pony tail that's too tight).

Did you ever have any of those styles when you had long hair.

These pictures are from 2 years ago: back when I first started treating my hair loss. (Right temple very visible, and crown not that different)

I also agree finasteride saved my hair, but I'm noticing no further improvement. I'm still lacking some density all over my scalp but my hair is very fine. Maybe that's as far as these treatments help me, but I'm happy to maintain/lose ground at a slow rate, at least until I can afford a transplant or use Duta in some years down the line.

I've never used tight hairstyles, but I used to style all the way up for a lot of years with wax and gel for the hair, back when I could style it before male pattern baldness and then my hair thinned when I started college. Sadly. I'm not sure if it was a factor tho.

Thank you guys for your inputs, cheer up!
