Right... It seems so long,, and many people must have been on various topicals for a while now. I am only using minoxidil atm,im a diffuse thinner so spironolactone cream is diff to apply,, and need another topical to reduce dht,so this thread would be helpful to me. Its time to discuss the most effective topical for both (i)reducing dht) (ii) growth stimulant.

At the mo,, i have the best as

(i)Topical spironolactone
(ii)minoxidil

Opinions welcome,...

Well it should go under 'general treatments' or 'experimental treatments.' In answer to your question, well there isn't really an answer coz you get a few bullshitters saying rubbish like: 'i think spironolactone has worked for me, but it could have been the rogaine.' I suggest you use the search funtion and narrow your searches to the aforementioned categories. I posted a topic entitled: 'revivogen v spironolactone v ecapil.' Needless to say I didn't get much replies.

If topical spironolactone is on the same level as minoxidil, why is it not the third member of the "big 3" instead of Nizoral?

1. Propecia, Rogaine 5%, Nizoral 1-2%
2. Revivogen, Proxiphen
3. Folligen Solution Therapy Spray, Tricomin Solution Follicle Therapy, LaserComb
4. Folligen/Folligen Shampoo Proguard
5. Proxiphen-N, Nano Shampoo, Hairgenesis Topical Activator Serum

Well lads - in terms of topical I'm ready to give up the game (internals seriously screw with me ....)

For 8 months solid I have followed the below regime religously...

7am - Revivogen
10.30am - spironolactone 2% all over head followed by 5% cream
10.30am - 15% minoxidil cream applied after spironolactone around hairline -
10.30am - 5% minoxidil spray all over the (has 2 x proscar finasteride tabs crushed into it - effectively 10mg finasteride per 60ml minoxidil)

5pm - spironolactone 2%

9pm - Proxpiphen hairline and thinnest areas
9pm - Prox-n remainder of head

11pm - quick minoxidil 5% spray (with finasteride mixed in) all over head

Nizoral used at least 4 times a week as the proxiphen/prox-n and minoxidil make my head quite scaley...
Prox-n shampoo used on some occassions

Results - NADA - The miniturisation an thinning just relentlessly continues....

Now if the above expensive regime is not covering all bases - I don't know what is... and yet it's doing bugger all!

damn that looks hard..

it's been my last ditch effort and a frustrating one at that...

The only thing I have ever missed is the 5pm - 2% spironolactone
and on the super rare occassion I sprayed minoxidil on at the same time as proxiphen and prox-n.

I did notice results at after the first 4 months (new hairs around my hairline and a slight thivkening throughout my head) - it was at this point I changed the minoxidil 15% cream containing progesterone back to standard 15% minoxidil cream due to the massive price difference....

I can't be positive due to the time it takes to judge a routine but everything seems to have gone backwards from this point......

My hairline keeps thinning out too despite despite my regimen. It also seemed like it thickened up for about 6 months and I had great hair. Now my hairline sucks again and it's going down hill. I added homemade spironolactone as a last ditch effort.

I've heard on here a while back that the liquid version is ineffective, something about how the alcohol is a bad vehicle for it. The cream version of spironolactone is easy to make.

What type of spironolactone do you use? The cream or the liquid? The cream is one reason i dont use it , Its way to hard to apply, Does the liquid version work?

I'm using both - use the dabber for 2% all over - apply the cream nearly everywhere as well...
Have my head shaved to 4 blade length so application is not a problem...

I like the feel of the 2% but it's the alcohol giving the cooling sensation...

nizoral is part of the big 3 because it is so easy to use and so cheap. also well tolerated. It increases shaft diameter 8%, and regrows a decent amount of hair too.

The minoxidil is supposed to go on before the spironolactone. I think there's supposed to be like a 10 min gap in between. I've heard one can actually deactivate the other if applied wrong. I think someone from Dr. Lee's website emailed that to me. Someone correct me if I'm talking out of my ***, or confirm if this all sounds accurate.
