UPDATE: Perhaps I have "telogen effluvium?" What shampoo?

Back about 4-5 months ago (around November 2010), I noticed the thinning. I started to be able to see my scalp much easier than before. I use to only see my scalp if I parted my hair tightly.

Reading around the internet it seems I may have "telogen effluvium." I'm not eating healthy as I should, I think I'm low on iron, and I don't excersice like I did as a teen. (I'm 25).

The last few times I washed my hair, I've noticed less than 20 hairs come out. I haven't noticed lots of shedding in some months. I use to have a handful of hair back some months..

So, what I'm wondering is... will the thickness to my hair return if I exercise and diet better? One thing I hope.. is this situation just doesn't get any worse...

What shampoo would you recommend? I'm using head and shoulders now, because of slight dandruff problem, but that issue is pretty much over...

help me out!

Re: Which (topical) product would you recommend for thickening?

there is currently only 1 topical which is proven to regrow/thicken hair and that is minoxidil

At first I thought you were going to be asking for products to thicken existing hair..I was going to say Osmotics FNS. But for regrowth..yeah, check out finfighter's thread.

Re: Which (topical) product would you recommend for thickening?

Jacob... My current hair might just be thinning (without loss), because I haven't noticed any major hair loss, maybe a little more than average at most. If I could maintain my current hair, and just thicken it back up... that would be good enough for me!

and I will check the links from the other replies. Thanks
