Urine issues after 2 days on Propecia

Hey guys,

I have only been on Propecia for 2 days, but I have a side effect already: I have to urinate a lot throughout the day, and it seems to dribble out with less force. In addition, I get 'drippage' in my underwear.

Is this due to the shrinking prostate? Has anyone else had this side effect and will it go away?

I take your point -- but it's a bit weird right? I'm really just wondering if anyone else has experienced it. I have read that the prostate puts pressure on the urethra (allowing you to 'cut off' the flow of urine), and therefore reducing the size could cause the issue of uncontrolled urine flow.

in my opinion you're thinking far too much into this, it's natural to be concerned when taking this medication after all the scare stories floating around. try to remember you have a 1or 2% chance of sides... i thought i was developing gyno within 2 weeks of taking propecia which turned out to be all in my head and wasnt possible within that timeframe anyway. we've all pissed ourselves... just try to take the pill and forget about it it's likely nothing, if youre really concerned consult your doctor

Yeah I hear you. Could be a number of things, including stress. I'm going to stop finasteride for now so I can get some baseline blood tests and confirm I am 'normal' going in to give myself some peace of mind. Thx for the rationality!

I had more or less the same experience at the beginning, maybe not so serious, but everything returned to normal after a few weeks.

Have you ever checked your blood glucose ??

I think you should make an oral glucose tolerance test.

Because diabetes mellitus is very very common in developed western countries..
