Users Who Have Used Both finasteride And Ru: Differences In Sides?

Hi all,

I wanted to reach out to the users that have used both finasteride and ru.

Did anyone experience sides on finasteride but not on ru? If you did still get sides, were they less severe?
What were the differences for your hair?

finasteride gave me bad sides where I still have not completely recovered from 4 months after quiting (less strong erections and lack of morning wood).

My hair has started thinning since 2 months and I don't want to give up yet....

Just under 2 months into RU (additional to minoxidil+Finasteride). No side effects, no shedding.
I remember experiencing mild fluctuations to libido and tender breasts much sooner after commencing on Finasteride (which I am tolerating, and continuing on the regime).
The two obviously work completely differently. I am hoping the addition of RU will promote some kind of development from the vellus hair which is seemingly longer and slightly more visible than before Finasteride...

You dont sound too sure. As time goes more and more RU users are going silent rather than admit they had a placebo effect that made them all too positive and exited. Some results seem genuine and only require verification, preferably by people using RU exclusively. As of now i dont see any reason to touch the stuff, the results arent much better than the "vitamins and magnesium supplement, wow my hair is so great now" crowd.

edit - And dont forget water retention effect on seemingly longer vellus hairs, its not a constant, just a little less retention in the skin is enough to make hairs look longer. If you ever seen someone die you know what i mean, their beard goes from clean shaven to 1 day stubs in a very short time as the skin starts to dry, the effect is so big and happens really fast.

The issue is that very few people are using RU exclusively.

I started it at nearly the same time as minoxidil and stemoxydine, I think I've had regrowth. Is that evidence for RU? No.

i take finasteride and ru together (admittedly my ru usage is very sporadic)

very minor ball ache first couple days on finasteride and zero sides after that, and zero sides with RU off the bat.

Tbh that's not OK and I wouldn't start taking other systemic anti-androgens if you have side effects lasting for 4 months after quitting. Strength of erections may be hard to judge objectively, but I would take a lack of morning wood seriously if I were you, if you've had it since taking finasteride and it hasn't returned to normal.

By that, I was referring to how Finasteride has seemingly promoted the growth of vellus hair (NOT RU, which I have only been using for 2 months and not expecting anything at this stage). I take your point on the hair appearance due to water retention issue. As others mentioned, no one seems to be using RU exclusively to have clear objective views on its effect... the best I am hoping for is for the vellus hair to become more visible.

Yep, no exclusive users, its been around a while already and its effectiveness should have been proven, but its not, is it really doing more than vitamins and mineral supplements, which is nothing. AS you said too, you think it helped, if it did help you would know, thinking only mean that it didnt help or the effect is insignificant. I hope people arent wasting too much time on these cures if they dont see clear and undeniable effects. If people are using other things in addition its ok, its their time to waste, the only problem is that they may confuse others by giving credit to ru when it was infact finasteride that caused all the improvement. I hope everyone will do as you and not recommend a substance once they think they see a small improvement, which happens too often in my opinion.

The effectiveness of RU is demonstrated in clinical trials. It never made it to phase III due to money, but it did have trials before that.

There were no trials for vitamin C and hair loss.

As for myself, I'm sporting a completely different haircut than I was previously.

Im not sure thats a reason to stay away from other similar meds, its fast nearing two weeks since i started dutasteride and sexual function went up from day one and still there, and today i am wondering if the effect is even stronger than it was to begin with. Thats how complicated it is, the wood he lost of finasteride can come back with another inhibitor, theres no way of knowing without trying.

I had persisting reduced sperm volume after using fina, it hasnt gotten worse on Duta, i thought it had but when i had a look i was very satisfied with the volume, i dont even want to call it reduced, just thinner consistence than normal, which is perfectly "normal" on both dutasteride and finasteride.
