Using Regaine forever?

Hi,

read a few topics about people that said after they stopped using regaine for a couple of months their hair looks worse then before more bald spots and thinner hair. I only had a phase of hair-loss about 6yrs ago, ever since then I had no hair loss, when I would use regaine to recover the hair lost 6yrs ago and stop using it will my hair become worse as it is now or is that just the case with people who actually have hair-loss and used regaine to STOP IT?

I'm just wondering if somebody can clear this up for me, I would imagine that people who have hair-loss and use regaine to stop it and discontinue it in 6months time will revert to the state as if hair-loss had continued in those 6months (without regaine usage), or am I totally wrong on this?

You are quite correct. If you're more of a visual comprehension type, reference below:

so anybody can answer my question properly?

If there is no current hair-loss and regaine 5% is used recover from a hair-loss phase I had 6yrs ago, but stop using it after several months (maybe because it itches or gives side effects), will my hair look worse then it does now or will it simply revert back to the state it is in now (since there is no hair-loss).

Is there a slight chance I might "destroy" or loose the hair I currently have if using regaine? When I stop using regaine will I ONLY loose hair I grew back due to regaine treatment?

ok, rogain doesnt stop hairloss.. it just grows more hair.. the rogain hair is adicted to minoxidil (rogain). And when you stop using rogain or other minoxidil. Youre minoxidil hair will die out in about 3 months.
Since minoxidil wil replace and add on hair as long as you use it, you will probably get alot of minoxidil hair after a while when youre regular hair drops off by the DHT in youre body.
And if you then stop using it, then 3 months after you will have lost all the hair minoxidil grew, and then it will probably look alot worse because you have not noticed all the minoxidil hair growing to replace what you have been loosing while on only minoxidil.

Does this explain it for you?
