Vacation With A A New Hair System ?

So I'm getting a hair system and it can be put on this week, but the thing is I'm going on vacation next weekend for a week and I dont wanna ruin it with being paranoid with it or something happening and not knowing what to do, but I would also like to have it since I havnt seen some family in a while, what are your guys opinions? Should I wait and do it after or should I try it out?

Hi Harold

There are basically only 2 things that ever go wrong: (1) the adhesives don't work well and therefore the hairline lifts a bit. This seems to happen in about a third of new installations; and (2) much more rarely, the adhesive causes skin irritation or a rash.

If you opt for a hairstyle where the front hairline is covered up, the first is manageable - if you get lift you just glue it back down. But that wouldn't work for an exposed hairstyle. In the case of the second problem, you could check for any skin issues by doing a skin test beforehand - get your salon to put a bit of whatever adhesive they plan to use on your scalp for a few days, and check that it doesn't cause any bad reaction.

Are you going with people who will know that you are wearing a system, or are you trying to keep it private?

Hey Noah, yes I am going for a style with the hairline being covered, I am going with my parents and wouldn't be opposed to telling my mom but other than that I'd like to keep it a secret, thanks!

I think if you are going with a covered hairline you should be OK. Talk to your supplier and get some glue for touching up the hairline in case it is necessary, and take a straw hat and/or bandana. You should be fine.
