Hi - I have a 17 year old with a receding hairline- it has been happening since he was 15- At 15 he looked 18 etc-He is in 11th grade smart - popular - all of the above - yet this is happening and he has not spoken about it but I know hin(I am his mom)-I told him today I ordered a product which could stimulate his hair growth and stop more from falling out- I said it was free of chemicals -and no known side effects-He said to definitely get it- Does anyone have any suggestions for him? Is this the right product? or a hype? I would really appreciate any information as this is quite difficult for him.

Thank you.

What product is it?

Perhaps the best proven product to get your son at his age is Rogaine 2%. You can find it at your local grocery store (Wal-Mart is the cheapest).

You could get him on Propecia, but it's generally recommended you wait until 18.

Also, check out Nioxin shampoo products. They thicken up the hair like crazy.

Don't buy into snake oils, okay? Do some research on the products!

Okay, I just read your regimen, and it says that you bought revivogen. If you bought the scalp therapy (those expensive, small bottles), that's alright. Your son might not like it because it's so greasy.

It has some scientific backing to it, so he'll probably get some results.

Tell him to not be upset if he doesn't get results, and there are tons of treatments available to him, like Rogaine, Propecia, Nizoral shampoo, etc.
