I went to a family doctor yesterday and told her about hairloss. After the usual questions like any illness, allergies etc. etc. she examined my scalp and was like yes u have male pattern baldness and then that there isnt much that she can do about it. Just wrote me a shampoo called MultiTar Shampoo for dandruff control. About Propecia she said its too expensive for a student and it will only SLOW your hair loss, but not do more than that...
Yada yada yada... im so screwd now :(

*only* slow your hair loss?

That's a stupid statement. The question is how much will it slow it down. You will die one day, believe it or not, at which point you don't need hair.

Although she is a Doctor, she knows little about hairloss other than the basics. If you search this forum you will come across posters who have stopped their loss or slowed it down to a snails pace.

If you want correct honest information about hairloss then gourmetstylewellness.com is the place, since there are thousands of members here that are actually taking the drug.

Whats your regimen?

can you see a male doctor? My doctor knew everything about propecia, proscar and even dutasteride.

My regimen is finasteride and nizoral right now.

I had no idea who the doctor was gonna turn out. The receptionist said Dr. Rickson will see, which i later found was a woman. Straight away she told me there isnt anything that she can do since it's genetic and she mentioned only when i was near the exit door, and she said it in a very discouraging tone like it is very expensive and not covered by insurance bla bla.

expensive?? just buy the generic version... costs 33$ for 4 months, (http://www.inhousepharmacy.com) the generic version contains 5 mg of finasteride, simply cut into quarters, take one quarter a day. Surely this isnt expensive.... good luck
