They had 3 couples on with the guys suffering from hairloss (This Morning, ITV in the UK), theyre putting two of them on trial with some random new treatments and leaving the last poor bloke in the hands of a hair stylist to see what he can do :shakehead:

Anyway besides all the usual rubbish that was spouted by people who dont really understand the treatments, they mentioned a product called Satura that only has to be applied in one cycle to regenerate hair.

Normally I laugh at that sort of talk...... but what caught my eye was the price tag, upwards of £3,000 for just 1 bottle, also given the fact that it was on a well known TV show it must have some minor grounds for legitimacy.

So obviously I went online and had a search on google, there was pretty much nothing there, but what I was amazed about was the fact that its never been mentioned on here.

Am I to assume that this product is just snake oil? How did it make it onto TV?

Probably some researcher on the program read their (Satura)'s glamorous press release and fell for it. (this kind of thing happens even on the BBC)

The whole thing screams scam.

Here's the website:

http://www.propico.eu/baldness-hair-loss-remedies/

They offer a PDF that says both a lot, and a little, at once.

Here they throw around a lot of large words into a sentence that actually means nothing.

"It contains both rare tropical plants and well known medicinal
herbs. The secret of such unusual efficacy of Satura® Rosta is
in the natural properties of its constituents and the
methodology to trigger and maximise their biological activity."

Slightly broken grammar and sentances that don't quite make sense (points to maybe a south asian origin)

This stuff's probably basically the same "natural herb" treatments you have been able to buy for years now (the same ones that don't do anything for hair).

The firm that allegedly runs this is called "Propico UK" and is registered to a room on the 2nd floor of an office complex in middlesex. (There seem to be about 30 different businesses that all do unrelated things registered just to the 2nd floor of this building)

The person who registered their domain comes from this (apparently empty) property in London.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... .28,,1,7.9

It seems typical of the types of outfits who sell products that appear legit but don't do anything, they then change their names and do it again a year or two later (rinse and repeat). They probably do contain all the herbs etc claimed - but they have to change their name when punters discover that all of those herbs fail to grow a single hair, despite the advertising saying it'll completely reverse baldness.

That's insane....

Great research...surely there's someone you can pass it on to? Particularly the 20 unrelated businesses part? Some sort of consumer fraud protection quango?

There are discussions of this(at least in other forums) going back to at least 2008.

The other guy was given Pro*erin, and we all know how effective and powerful that is don't we?

And yes, as you pointed out, the third is getting helfpul haircuts from their 'style' guru, this guy....

Come on, there's nothing wrong with the dude's hair. It's ridiculous how one's own hair loss makes him observe other's hair exagerrately! This happens only after he begins losing hair. Before that, he simply doesn't notice anything wrong in a NW6, and after, he'll eventually see thin hair in almost everyone! And in many people you could say they have thin hair if you put them in a very bright light or their hair is wet.
There are many people who have a more or less V-shaped hairline(like the dude above) from BIRTH. It' s just the way their hair grows, come on, it doesn't mean they are balding or they will ever bald. And it doesn;t mean they don't look good. You can look good with a V-shaped hairline, if it;s not too obvious.
And i don;t know, but some say that women are more attracted to guys that don't have a very low hairline. What';s the point in having a perfect straight hairline and an only 3 cm forehead?? Come on, these people with almost no forehead are not that attractive, they look like monkeys!

It has been discussed before and nothing in terms of evidence really ever surfaced.

The stylist has a very very thin crown, you could see it under the studio lights and his awesome long hair combover.

Ya think?

He's there giving advice to men losing their hair, and he has severe loss at the front(not a great pic above, granted) and wears it long at the back and long at the sides. Would you want him advising you? If you are receding at the front and grow it long at the back and the sides then you are not fit to advise people with hair loss, because his own style only accentuates it more!

I give you................... Michael Bolton!!! :shakehead:

It's interesting that although this was broadcast in March and they gave these guys different types of hair loss products, they said they were going to reveal the results a few months later, but I've just remembered, they never did.

Says it all really doesn't it?

Back to the drawing board then
